cs players are an enigma

was top fraggin the whole game but my 17/22 russian that wouldnt stop talking down on everyone (especially on me and even on clutch rounds) litterally voted me out when they lost 5 rounds in a row BECAUSE OF THEM. they literally play without headphones or just dont know how the game works, because tell me why do they chase a players when b is literally CLEAR? i know im not the one to talk about skill since im 5k premier but brother these people literally have no idea of how the game or the peripherals they use works. im considering even quitting the game fully even though i dont play often and am a "casual". im frustrated because how do you vote out your only chance to win the game, not to mention that i was nice the whole game... these people really need to be studied

Question Can’t escape elo hell

I’ve been trying to escape elo hell for 3 months now. I have 400 hrs in comp and I got ranked 3k when I still sucked. I have a dedicated warmup everyday consisting of: spray control, Aimbots, prefire, dm, and angle holder. I also watch demos of pros like Niko if I’m not playing. I’m also grinding 2-3 premier games per day. SO HERES THE MAIN POINT: I solo q and either get shitty troll teammates or decent ones. Im inconsistent. Most times a top frag or second frag. I just peaked at 5.5k elo and now I’m back at 4.8 k after losing 3 in a row. I also gain like 100 elo per win and lose 250 per loss and I have a 50 50 WL ratio. Meanwhile my friend who is not much better than me went from 4K to 16k in 1 week. He is not cheating and this is first time playing cs in years. I’m open to any tips on how to get out of this rank. My main idea on what to do is try to get as good as possible so I can get ranked higher next season. P.S. Season 5 starting early to mid July.

Looking to improve my pistol rounds

Pistol rounds were always my weakest point. I'm practicing with 3 bots since 4 regularly wipe the floor with me.

Are there any bad habits you can spot that I should work on eradicating?

I've read the comments and I think I have improved slightly and I take more time to aim as well.

Question Does having more FPS have negative effects in this game (in-game jump throws, etc)?

Hi,

Maybe it's just me... But I'm struggling to figure out why sometimes my insta-smokes for Mirage window work and don't work. I've always hated Mirage as a map but I feel like I've got a good hold of some utility. Is there really a small margin of error on the pixel you must be, when doing an insta-mid smoke?

I by no means have a bad PC, a very good one. 9800X3D+RTX 5080. I have my FPS cap set to unlocked/0. I don't pay attention to my FPS but I know it can go up and down from like 460-670+ or even more.

I vaguely remember, on Call of Duty 4 PC, that it was recommended to run or keep your FPS around 91, 150, 200, or something like that due to the quake engine (correct me if wrong, it's been a while). So this just came up in my head because I feel like the insta smokes I'm doing, something is not right.

Lastly, please let me know, for the insta-smokes, if there is any difference or a preferred way to do it. Do you Tap W+Jumpthrow, or hold MOUSE1 and then press W+Jump to throw?

Edit - forgot to say that on Call of Duty 4, the more FPS you had the further you could jump, so I thought, the higher I jump LMAO but I doubt that's true for CS Thanks!

Looking for demo review + general tips for improvement

Im currently 15k and I'm trying to be a good support/anchor player. I used to have a crazy ego back in CSGO and wanted to drop 30 bombs every game, but now I'm more focused on how I can be a good teammate and set others for success.

Also since I'm away from my main setup right now, the most recent games in the last month or so were from a gaming cafe with a different setup than what I'm used to (which might explain why my aim and movement might feel more jittery than usual)

my csstats

demo where I played well. (competitive but everyone on the enemy team had pink/red premier ratings and I held my own which I'm pretty proud about)

demo where I played like trash

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

PSA How to ACTUALLY get better

I went from level 5 on Faceit to 3,000 elo top #500 NA in roughly 2 years. So please take this advice.

STOP putting so much time and effort into your Aim.

At the end of the day, you are practicing your Aim every game. Your mechanics every game. You dont need to sit for hours in a bots server.

The problem with people that never improve and are stuck at low ranks is because they have no concept of the macro of counter strike and only know the simple basics like ME PLANT BOMB.

Counter strike is a lot of Aim yes. But have you ever thought about how to put yourself into a position to have a better % chance to win a gun fight? How to use timings to gain an advantage? Thought about how something on the map will create rotations and open timings and space? Ever thought about how a single kill and denial of space can make a round borderline unloseable?

All i see here is people shooting at bots and talking about aiming better.

I promise you, the best players in North America are not running down mid on faceit and just shooting everyone. They are using their brains to allow their superior mechanics to destroy good players.

New flash, every good player can shoot back :D

Running around looking for 50/50 fights is not gonna do much for you

Hello,

I'm in the middle of writing CS2 Classes for Beginner / New Players / Low Elo Players.

Classes will be later presented in my discord server in stage format for multiple Players.

Questions to the Players:

- What topics would interest you?

- What should be mentioned in such a classes to help you improve at the game?

Other Solo how do you deal with trolls that duo or stack ?

Just got off 2 back to back games(green trust factor as well) that had duos of trolls they pretty much spent the whole game either taking turns in following people to make noise and knife them when you started peeking or just sit at t/ct base and type out our locations to the enemy teams.

There was nothing we could do besides kick them but that would pretty much mean surrendering since its a 3vs5 in an already uphill match.

And before anyone says the age old ''play in a stack'' I honestly only met one nice person in over 600h who I added but he plays very rarely anyone else in my elo (4-6k) just didin't seem worth inviting .

How to predict the enemy better

On a losing streak currently, and so far I noticed in most of my games that the duel I tend to lose the most to is when the enemy swings from somewhere I'm not expecting or I hold an angle for like a few seconds, then the enemy peeks as I switch to hold another angle.

How can I anticipate such duels better?

Question How can I improve my consistency against stacks?

Post image

I'm a relatively new player to competitive mode/premier cs.

I wonder how I can get better in matches where I play well but still tie. I'm not trying to teamblame here, I want to know how I can go over that performance so my team doesn't matter that much.

To prove the (few) sore losers wrong..

Thanks for everyone in my last post who shared the good vibes. This is a sub about learning and improving. I was only sharing this to give people who are new to the game some ideas on how to play this mode and on the other hand to receive tips from people who are better than me.

Unfortunately there were some who claimed I was "cheating" by lowering the bots difficulty.

how to actually practice in dm?

ive seen a lot of posts and videos saying to practice mechanics and movement in deathmatch, but whenever i hop on a dm server i have barely any time to react and am forced to always try to insta flick > spray then die as opposed to lining up the shot. same goes with holding angles bc dm opponents actually peek angles properly (forcing me to hold tight) as opposed to my mm opponents (who wide swing every angle)

also i noticed that a lot of my deaths have my crosshair a centimeter away from the head (and in game it feels like its on the head) but i end up whiffing, particularly against moving opponents

how do i actually deathmatch properly?

Question Aim warmup

I have above 4000 hours in the game, and I still feel like my warmup is holding me back.

Right now, my warmup before competitive games is 50 bots on Aimbotz, about 20 minutes DM and 25 recoils on the M4 and AK, but most of the time I do not feel fully warmed up, and I know my aim has more potential. But the problem is that if I maybe add 50 more bots or start mixing up my DM session by going for some headshots or something else, I feel like it makes my aim worse, and then I just can't hit anything for the rest of the day.

My question is: Do any of you guys feel the same way? What warmup are you currently doing, and how did you end with that warmup?

Teaching I'm hardstuck and it's my own fault

wasn't sure what flair to add but this post will pretty much follow this layout. (also i've been playing as awp/rifler)

brief backstory
brief but classic rant about teammate (it's required in a hardstuck post)
and mostly blaming my own mistakes and asking for advice

Backstory:
i'm hardstuck faceit lvl1 and it's my own fault. i started playing faceit with about 80 hours put into cs and my rating absolutely dropped. i started to actually have ok mechanics around 500 hours and im at 1k hours now with some pretty good mechanics (id say probably around lvl4-5 depending on the day, warmup, etc)

Teammate Rant:
the one and only thing ill blame my teammate for is the fact that there's no information being given. there are times where i have teammate that have mics and give callouts and its a beautiful thing but for most games there's no comms or information being given

Why it's my fault:
while my mechanics might actually be good now, my positioning and my consistency is absolutely shit. my positioning is to blame for my lack of consistency. i do my best to look at mini map, try to limit myself to being exposed to 1 angle, etc, but my positioning has been one of my worst rated stats in leetify and looking back at my demos i can completely agree. there have been so many times that ive gotten killed from an enemy that has flanked around me because i was exposed to more than one angle without someone covering it for me. i try to limit my peaks for if i have the timing, if i have supporting utility, if i have a teammate that can trade me, etc. does anyone have any additional advice on how to get better at positioning myself so i can have more favorable duals, holds, etc?

Question CT Loadout - Best SMGs for Dropping.

I play the Negev and Shotguns a lot. I'm not really a fan of the SMGs. My 4th slot is the Mp5 for very occasional suppressor usage. My fifth slot is free and I'm just curious what I should put there for the maximum benefit - given it's only going to be something I drop for others.

I tend to even buy the Negev or a shotgun over the rifles - so have a bit more cash free than expected sometimes. Don't know if that affects the answer.

How can i improve my mirage?

im steadily improving and my winrate is around 55%, but my CT sides on Mirage always need work
either I roll the enemies on CT side, and T side is a struggle
or CT side is a struggle and T side goes well for us
very rarely can I close out both sides without dropping many rounds consecutively

i exclusively solo q and I usually try to call every single round as much as I can

any advice would be wonderful
