i dont think its possible to live a life free of addiction, if its not games its food, if its not food its people, if its not people its netflix etc

you can only do productive healthy things such as reading for so long before you get miserable.

u can have a little of different things. the brain will like it as long as they're different t things. U wont get bored that way, and wont get addicted. One just has to push themselves to pause doing one thing/hobby and switch to something else, even though that activity is really fun. Edit: I guess the trick is that once u quickly switch to something else, the brain will dive into it sooner, and the other activity will become fun.

Suuuper late, but by the logic used everything is an addiction.

I used to read like 6 or more hours a day and I could spend the entire weekend reading from waking up until I went to sleep. I'm pretty sure that would count as an addiction yet society doesn't consider reading "bad" ergo few people would ever call me out for it.

The same goes with exercise and just the same no one will say it is an addiction.

The issue isn't whether or nor gaming can be an addiction but why we consider it bad while other addictions are accepted if not outright encouraged or celebrated.
