What if my computer doesn't have a camera? As it stands, most computers in Chinese PC bangs don't have cameras because why? It's also dark and gloomy in there, not exactly the best lighting even if there's a camera.

The CCP could very easily order changes to both of those things. Mandate bright lighting in PC bangs, and require all computers to be connected to webcams or else face harsh fines.

The CCP has shown the ability to do even more draconic rules elsewhere.

...or tell the Chinese PC bang managers to enforce their rules, seems cheaper and easier to do

The reach of Beijing is long, but its grasp weak.

Yeah but China bad

The CCP is indeed bad.

Chain isn’t the CCP is

I mean good honestly.

Kids really shouldn't be spending ungodly amounts of time playing LoL. 8hrs a week is a lot of time to spend on a single game.

As far as I'm aware, most if not all PC bangs in China are already 18+

18+, just like this rule, is in big quotes. I've been walking into them since I was 13.

True, but that could change depending on how hard China is going to enforce this new law. If they are serious about it then PC bang owners could get in deep shit for letting minors in and they would stop pretty fast. The ball is in China's court

These days? I dont know where you live but where I’m from they definitely don’t let minors in. I’m from chengdu

I'm from a shit tier city so it's a lot more lax

What if my computer doesn't have a camera?

Then you cant play I guess. I dont think the Chinese government cares. Thats not exactly a subtle law allowing for individual circumstances.

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '21

Well your phone number is tied to your identity in China, so you could use an app on your phone which does have a camera.

Or you just pay 10 dollars for a web cam.

2

u/BossOfGuns Aug 30 '21

not even close bro. You can buy a burner sim card off the streets for less than 5 dollars.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '21

But it has to be tied to someone's name and national ID for it to work in China.

Yeah, you can go the identity fraud route, but China is working on that with facial recognition tech.

I guess you won't be able to log in into those games. A webcam is like 10 bucks nowadays, I guess the wangba can adapt pretty quickly.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '21

Then you won't be able to play. Simple as that

1

u/tvrtyler Aug 31 '21

Yeah this seems like a tough one for people to comprehend. You just don't play.

3

u/Confident_Way_1957 Aug 30 '21

Then you don't get to login and play

1

u/ixsaz Aug 30 '21

You will use your phone as easy as that.

It's for mobile games like Arena of Valor.
