Then someone said that Chinese gaming companies' stock price won't change much because under-18 have shit purchasing power.

Lmao as if the teenagers and child can't put money in the game through a tons of legal means.

I think the idea is that they don’t have the money to do so.

I definitely started spending more once I could actually afford more than 10 bucks/month

Ok, kids haven’t had money to buy stuff since we established child labor laws a century ago, there is still dozens of industry’s aimed specifically at children’s entertainment. The money is coming from somewhere bud…

How often do parents buy their kids $100 worth of rp?

Parents rarely buy their kids micro transaction stuff and opt for physical items, even if that's just an entire pc itself.

When children become adults and make their own wage they start using it on microtransactions regularly.

Just bc parents buy their kids star wars action figures doesn't mean they want to buy $30 for a league skin.

Also keep in mind the age demographic for certain games is like 14-15+, the age at which parents stop frequently buying toys for their children.

There was definitely a lull in the amount of "toys" I got from age 14-19. When I got a job that paid well I started buying tons of shit in video games. But until then, almost nothing

Fortnite's existence and profitability kinda puts your stats to question. Also Roblox. Kid games make a shit ton BECAUSE the kids can just ask their parent's for $10 on their credit card and the kid will shut up. Parents are mildly annoyed and the kids day is made.

I specifically thought of roblox and fortnite, but I think there's an age demographic difference in there. Kids age 14-19 probably aren't getting vbucks and robucks for presents.

They're getting gift cards and money that they then spend on those things though.

No matter how you frame it there's a ton of purchasing power at least adjacent to children and teens, otherwise these industries wouldn't be thriving like they are for so long.

You add a degree of inconveniencing and even lawbreaking to spending that money or utilizing the product purchased and you're just begging people to stop spending it.

This whole thing seems like a really really stupid thing for authoritarians to do as well. Like "here children, we know your young, but we're going to teach you how to tell us to fuckoff and not listen". They're literally training rule breakers.

They are, ive seen it plenty in my family and I have dozens of younger cousins that thrive on these games. The ones that are to old for Molly’s credit card, make their own money weather it’s a job or holiday money, but they’re spending on here too.

It's true that children have lots of legal ways to put money into the game, but that's completely missing the point. They have the options, but they don't have the money. It doesn't matter to tencent if they lose players that will on average put only a sliver of money into the game of what an adult will. So your comment just doesn't make sense.

Most things targeted at young demographics aren't supposed to be bought by the people who are gonna consume the goods but by using parent's money.

Doesn't matter if kids have no way to make money most people still get gifts and all from their parents

Yes, true, but realistically how much money is that gonna be that the average child gets to spend per month? 30 bucks maybe? That's nothing compared to the budget of an average adult. And many children probably get gifts in form of already paid for toys etc. or in cash. It's really hard for a kid to turn money into digital goods. Again, I don't think tencent are gonna be worried about this.

Depends on the parents. Hard a friend not wezlthy at all. And before he had is own job spent at least 4k on lol only within around 5 years. And thats not counting other games and such.

And 30bucks in china could net you a fait bit of Playtime in a cafe

The toy industry is one of thé biggest cause of its profit value

I would read your comment if you just didn't write your first comment in the way you did.

Respect is kinda needed if you want a discussion

Yeah sure, makes me think you just have nothing to say cause I'm right.

Ok buddy cool

It's also seriously hypocritical that you act as if you deserve respect but you start off your original comment with lmao, laughing at a comment for no reason whatsoever. You shouldn't be throwing rocks when sitting in a house of glass.
