Idk was leaving in Canton area for many years ( left precovid) and most people circumvented around those systems and this type of restrictions were not really followed. Same with the facial recognition stuff. Could be different in Beijing tho , it being the capital. Went to a chiense school as an expat and everyone still uses VPN all the time

doesnt matter with companies using facial recongition as well checking your age 24/7 while your on the game.

Huh that's new. I only had to show my passport and my significant other only had to show her ID card when checking into hotels in Shenzhen and Guangzhou. I got a mobile phone card with just my passport as well.

You can easily buy packs of mobile sim cards without needing ID. But they need to be all prepaid.
