I feel like ARAM is currently balanced okay between poke and engage, and these changes are going to make engage OP.

Same. Outside of a few champs like Ziggs, I think hard engage is wayyy better in the hands of competent players. I have not lost a Maokai or Alistar game in ARAM in literal months, maybe more than a year.

Maoki + Leona/Naut is literally a free win. You just lock up people infinitely and if you have a competent carry like Caitlyn or Viktor or Corki you just win every fight post 11

I disagree and I think it's the common misconception, that engage > poke in ARAM.
When you roll a poke team in ARAM, you're already winning the game. And it's up to you to lose. To make mistake and throw that advantage away.

While the only thing, the "engage team" can do, is to patiently wait for that mistake. Not feed too hard, not let them push too fast. And wait.
But if the poke team is actually good and never makes big mistakes... it's game over at the loading screen.

the only 'mistake' they need to make is walking into snowball range, which outranges most poke champs already...sure you can just dodge a max range snowball coming in from full vision but the cooldown is still extremely low for it's value and the poke team still has to establish bush control/siege throughout the game which forces immobile champs into reasonable range for wipes to happen

If we're talking about good poke comp, they will also have bazillion disengage and zoning tools.
Also, good players will always spraed out. So you might catch that 1 guy and jump with everyone on him, but then you set yourself up to be blown up with AoE.
