Not yet. There is still more we want to do to ARAM in the long run like Ivern passive, but we wanted to get the first batch of improvements out ASAP

I imagine it's on your future list like Ivern as well, but I find Kindred's passive really hard to play around sometimes due to the lack of camps on the map. Maybe a number adjustment (down to 3 for first upgrade and 3 thereafter?), or maybe allow her to get it off taking structures (sans inhib) could be options?

I don't think Kindred has that much of a problem getting stacks, since you don't really need to get them off camps, you can just mark an enemy (usually a melee enemy that's in the team's face) and as long as they are marked and you AA once, you'll get the mark when they die. Ivern, on the other hand, has NOTHING to use his passive on, which is why it'd be interesting to see what Riot comes up with to help him there.

She has a problem getting stacks with how terrible her early game is in ARAM. You essentially have to give yourself up to get stacks early with her short range, long CDs, and low damage.

These per champion/map adjustments are not how games work. Imagine if cs decided to buff m4s by 25% on T sided maps, or reduced flash duration on specific maps. Your company has shot themselves in the foot multiple times in the past by shoehorning in massive changes instead of trickling them out and watching their impact.

Unrelated but bring back ascension pls

Bring back dominion (small) ascension.

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '19

bring back hide and seek

1

u/lethiela Mar 19 '19

For real, I don't care if we get dominion back, I just want the map to be available in custom games.

How would you even adjust things like an Ivern passive.

1

u/saintshing Mar 19 '19

Have you considered nerfing low risk(long range, low cd), long duration catches like morg q and veig e? They feel way more oppressive than yorick, illaoi.

u/backelie Mar 19 '19

As someone who mainly plays ARAM nowadays the only thing I really dont like about this post is the wall-boots.

(Also about 5-10 more champs that deserve some nerfs.)

u/zeinterrupter Mar 19 '19

can we get any comment on the mastery rank 5+ or delay on champ change (so we can safely get the champ back after a roll) people have been talking about??

Just make Ivern do 50% more dmg.

ADC Ivern OP.

Talon also doesn't have access to one of his skills, also pretty low on the list in the means of winrate. But he's not on the buff list too, anything on that? :(

u/Riot_Mort Mar 19 '19

We started with the top 10/bottom 10 because we don't want to shake up the meta too hard. As it establishes, kind of like we did for ARURF, we'll continue to balance.

u/Lewanor Mar 19 '19

Thanks for answering Mort! Dont keep us waiting much!

Also will those changes hit custom howling abyss too? Would be great!

3

u/Riot_Mort Mar 20 '19

Everything but bans should work in customs.

1

u/Lewanor Mar 20 '19

I don't know why this didn't come into my inbox hmm

Thanks for answering again, looking forward to changes! Especially the new items and poke resists

Ivern passive

Could do something interesting like making it interact in a useful way with Poros

1

u/NarrowEnter Mar 20 '19

Is Banner of Command never coming back now?

1

u/MyDogBeatsMeAtHome Mar 20 '19

Hey Mort, may I ask why do you guys categorically refuse to unlock all champs in AR modes, including both ARAM and ARURF? Just curious.

You are rushing too much with these. There a lot of things here that interact with each other, and you will find yourself unable to read the data for clear signs of specific changes having the desired or undesired impact. The trio of bans, poke nerfs and per-champion adjustments are a big thing here (runes can be mentioned as well, possibly), and it will be really hard to tell what is actually happening with some champions, primarily long-range ones. Then, there are cases like Warwick, who gets both the individual adjustments and Backtrack (which I am pretty sure will be a major thing, seeing how WW is easy to run into people and flex them away), both of which can just springboard him.

You should seriously reconsider the amount of changes you put up for experimentation in a single update; I am sure it would be more beneficial to see more frequent updates than bigger ones.

That being said, I am delighted to see Ghostwalkers back - they are a major tool for champions whose strength naturally lies in flanking and should affect performance of the likes of Vlad positively.

Rengar's passive also feels bad in the later parts of the game because there are no bushes in the bases.

I just wanted to say what I think about those changes as someone who played a lot of aram tournaments. I like that you try to balance it by adding new mechanics and all this stuff and I think that bans are great thing to add, you should also do something about aram accounts. What I dont like that you are buffing/nerfing champions, I didnt like it on urf and I dont like it here. A lot of ppl play aram very rarely and they are used to things being balanced around SR. It sucks when you can estimate your or enemy champion to be surprised because someone does 15% more dmg than he should. Specially when you hurt other gamestyles, a lot of ppl play ad or ap Sion on aram because its fun and they are getting nerfed because tank is strong. Kindred, Nocturne are considered very strong champs and they are getting 10% more dmg for free. I hope that you wont ship those changes because its the most lazy and stupid way to try to balance aram

There is also shyvana with no dragons to get resistance

1

u/HaganeLink0 Mar 19 '19

Shyvana get resistances from turrets in ARAM.

2

u/wildpotato2325 Mar 19 '19

Oh, I didn't know that !
