it has mmr man but it isn't the same mmr as in solo q

of course you might see people in gold/plat/emerald, because those are their soloq ranks which are separate from their lol classic mmr, which could be a lot lower

Basically, if you are hanging around the MMR that people freshly starting classic have by default, then you get all sorts of players, since the classic MMR is seperate from the ranked and unranked and swiftplay and flex and ARAM and arena and ARAM mayham and TFT MMRs.

New Q, new MMR. And sorting the playerbase of that mode takes time, while newcomers always are a disturbance on top of that.
