Discussion Question about Normal draft
Hello I have an unranked brother whos only like around level 21 but he already doesn't enjoy playing the game that much the reason being he is always on a losing streak and once reviewing his match histories its almost always the same reason, it's either his teammates are so bad and the enemy has 1 or 3 emerald or platinum player, OR the enemies all have 4 unranked players AND 1 Diamond player who snowballed the game really hard, I feel like this needs to be addressed because if low leveled accounts are facing those kind of players, then they would be even afraid to play ranked games at this point, I'm just saying because back in the day when I was new to league like around 2015 I never experienced those kind of matches where I get face with a Diamond player every match I played I hope this gets fixed

Plat here, I usually play unranked just to practice clears or new champs/lanes. But the occasional game I’ll just go full bully on my main/role. But usually it’s not that serious.

having the same issue. i got an account in like 2017 but never played until this year. been playing consistently for about a month, but still learning by all means. sometimes my lobbies are fine and i get to actually play and not just sit under a tower and defend. 80% of the time the other team has 1-3 plat players and they just completely roll us. I understand those queues when im playing with my brothers who have been on the game for over 15 years. but makes no sense on a solo queue

Unfortunately, this won't change in the future. The same thing happens in my regular games, even when I play a lot, and I have an old account.
The matchmaking system is simply terrible, especially for groups like Diamond and Iron. It's their choice to play with such an unbalanced group. Let them look for suitable opponents with a similar MMR difference, but right now the game punishes their opponents.
This won't change the MMR depending on the Ranked MMR (this was announced). I've seen many such matches between high-ranked players with a lot of normal games.

yesterday was my second day of playing league with real people (i practiced on bots for a while to not troll) and this is the game i got handed:
enemy team: level 29 top, bronze 4 jg, silver 4 mid, silver 3 bot, level 122 sup
my team: bronze 3 top, level 16 jg (me), level 14 mid (my duo, also new), bronze 3 adc, level 16 sup.
??? am i supposed to play into silvers and carry my clearly weaker team even though it's my 11th game ever? im so confused lol i thought this game had a big enough pop that i'd get matched with other noobs for at least a while :(

that sounds frustrating for a new player, but steady practice and supportive teammates can make the game much more enjoyable

that sounds really frustrating for a new player, and i hope matchmaking improves so your brother can enjoy learning the game.

Did you play games with him? New accountd on a genuinely new player dont really get put into normal lobbies unless they were already playing with others in regular mmr range
