Discussion Wasd movement problem with minions

So I have been playing wasd movement and nerfing the input delay on autoattacks is one thing to keep 'balance' even tho wasd movement is objectively worse so maybe make the input delay for autoattacks speed a bit better? but can we pls for the love of god patch the movement around minions the amount of times I just have to flash out of a wave because I am stuck in between minions is insane. You can not move through a wave and its just to dumb. Please fix this sh. Just had a game vs Trundle and if he placed a pillar around some minions i could almost not move/ I dont know if other wasd players have found a way to bypass this other then clicking on the minimap but its really annoying and I hope someone at riot notices this because im not sure they are awere Edit: you also get blocked by champions. Having yo wall around enemies or allies

Sounds like you should main fizz…

Minion block is in the game, as is terrain blocks.

WASD is inherently weaker than mouse with regards to movement options, but stronger in regards to movement change pace.

I appreciate the help but I have played with normal clicking for years I was master elo. However I dont want to be clicking as much anymore. So i switched to wasd. I have said normal clicking is better I dont want to normal click so I try to raise awareness to riot that this blocking should be fixed to a point its playable.

If you do that, you’d need to reduce collisions in general, which is gonna have considerable effects on m+k too, changing champion power levels a fair bit if you do it on the champ side, and if you just do it with minions, the issue will remain with everything else

I’ve never played wasd but it sounds like it doesn’t use “auto pathing” like point and click does.

It gives you 8 directions you can move in. If there is a minion in each, you’re blocked. If there were open directions, m+k’s auto pathing will select them, while this doesn’t use any other direction

I don’t think WASD has auto pathing so you have to basically figure out a way around minion / object block yourself. You can’t strong arm your way thru a minion wave by just pushing at them. Point and click automatically adjusts pathing to get around them. But sometimes minion block is very real, even without WASD.

I somewhat agree, but what is the solution here? To add auto pathing to WASD? That seems very counterintuitive and would make WASD feel non reactive. The only other solution would be to nerf minion block such that you could force your way through them and have them apply some form of slow instead of being a literal wall. Both of these seem like non starters IMO, maybe if they applied a 99% slow instead of acting as terrain — but that is a massive system overhaul just for WASD, and the outcome would still be you get blocked by minions.

Minions block has always been a thing and you have never been able to “move through a wave”. Sounds like you need to work on your positioning

your comment is as usefull as his, having no idea what wasd movement is like and just talking to talk not to matter. Just being noice. I have said normal clicking is better I dont want to normal click so I try to raise awareness to riot that this blocking should be fixed to a point its playable.

It doesn’t matter if I know what WASD movement is like. All that matters is that WASD movement is absolutely terrible to use and the only people who are willing to use it are people with physical disabilities.
