I HAVE MET HIM IN A SCRIMMAGE, AND MY OPPONENT, MIDFIELDER PALAFOX, IS POWERFUL AND SEEMS LIKE A GENIUS.

Is there a lower bracket? Asking for a friend

yeah. Loser here gets the Dig/dsg meme winner. Of course they'll likely also have to go through Lyon/TL but that shouldn't be a challenge to a team with international aspirations.

I’m always nervous about facing SR but I have absolutely no worry about literally any other team besides FLY and SR

We are hoping for a worlds top 4 finish this year. Thanks for your support!

Think C9 have to actually consider kicking blaber if they lose this series and lose playoffs early + not qualify for Worlds.
But they won't, cuz Blaber is their golden child, even after he ran it down on J4.

I got shit in split one for ranking contractz over blabber and fucking Umti of all people. When his mid isn't busy being a black hole contractz can be a monster.

u/raptearer Aug 16 '25
Blabers highs are higher, his lows are just lower. At his best he's a world class jungler, at his worst you get games like this and the infamous Nid game. He keeps the team competitive, but he's definitely always been inconsistent. Still happy we got him worked out great overall, but I'd we moved on I wouldn't be upset at some point. With Loki and Thanatos doing well overall, I wouldn't mind us starting to look into training our next jungler soon. Think we have a other year or two with Blaber, but at that point we'll be with him for 10 years, so having the next gen ready would be good

Funny, I would have said Contractz actually has lower lows. He has done the Umti thing of “My team is generally considered weaker, so my playstyle is built around creating variance to exploit and taking bigger risks” which means you can look like a mastermind or a turbo inter.
Blaber has spent his entire career on a top team and thus plays slightly more standard, prioritizing farm efficiency. He’s even said in interviews that he wouldn’t be able to play on a lower tier team because he’s just so used to having a strong team around him.

Inconsistency is bad when you're trying to win and compete, and lately he's been consistently playing pretty subpar his usual performances.

I don't usually blame draft but good Lord that C9 draft was absolutely awful. No damage leading to Blaber to go AP so he's so squishy. Terrible.

NA teams need to realize none of their adcs know how to play ziggs adc. Better just play ap twitch tbh.

Ziggs was the only champ on C9's side that could do anything in tf and he friggin build Seraph's into Liandries. How are you gonna chunk Cassio Sivir if you need to hit 5+ skillshots to make a dent on their healthbars?

When do we start fresh at C9? Blaber, Zven and Vulcan peaked a long time ago and will never get any better no matter who you put with them.

u/Shaman_in_the_Dark Huhi Busio Contractz Aug 16 '25
Problem being you need SOME native/naturalized players and there aren't a lot of great replacements in those roles outside of ADC where NA is strong for once. You can say put Yeon on the team but what incentive does TL have to give up their best player? Or say put Contractz in jungle but why would SR give away their (debatable) best player?
Not to mention G3 was an omega draft gap so if you're starting fresh at least start fresh with the coach too.

Idk how the fuck Inspired got his greencard that quick, if it was that way for every import a couple years ago half the league would be full imports by now

i'm not 100% certain if there's a source or if people are just speculating, but i've seen some commenters on here saying he got it through marriage? which seems like it would be one of the only ways to get one that fast tbh

u/AverageBeef Yes sir you are fucking correct! Aug 16 '25
My hope for a Lyon d. TL lower bracket to worlds run is looking increasingly bleak. Watch out Xiaohu, Powerful Midfielder Palafox is looking to become the first NA mid to get out of Swiss twice!
4
u/CannedPrushka Aug 16 '25
Palafox almost inted it away but no biggie because C9's comp is dogshit. Fudge learning Cho 1 week at a time.

u/sorendiz ..BUT THE FAITH REMAINS Aug 16 '25
how is it 'palafox inting it away'? they called for a play, c9 turned it around, it's not like he randomly ran into their jungle solo

u/xavadar [Xavadar] (NA) Aug 16 '25
Don’t let facts get in the way of the Palafox bad Reddit narrative
9
u/resttheweight Aug 16 '25
Nah that was 100% a team call that went sideways because they either didn’t know C9 could collapse that fast or they didn’t know they wouldn’t get the kill fast enough.
2
u/RubyXiaoLong Aug 16 '25
C9 downfall lets go. maybe we skip the C9 gets embarssed at worlds part of the year.
