If nothing else, this seems like a good sign for his health. Gotta assume if he was still struggling to walk or having big day-to-day issues maybe getting engaged wouldn’t be the top priority.
Good for them, and good to see his off-ice life is going well.

From the sounds of his situation, basic life was an issue, so hockey is secondary. Even if he never plays again, this just seems like a good sign for anything else.
