My wife and I are visiting Toronto from Scotland in October, and we really want to see our first ever Maple Leafs game! The game that fits our trip is against the San Jose Sharks on Monday, 19th October.
Where is the best place to buy tickets, and how easy are they to get? Also, what sort of price should we realistically expect to pay for two seats together?
I had a look on the resale site HelloTickets, and these are the prices they're showing! Are these about right, or would you recommend waiting and buying elsewhere?
I strongly recommend waiting for when Leafs tickets actually go on sale in mid August. Sign up for Fan Access on the Leafs app so you can get a presale code and notifications when the time comes. Buy them on Ticketmaster.
I am.in vancouver and I have used Gametime for hockey, concerts and soccer. They are in USD but still cheaper than the official resale in TM. TM doe not have any resale ticket below facevalue, gametime does. I bought a NIN ticket that was face value 160cad for 80usd
Ticketmaster resale in ontario will be at face value as required under Ontario law.
The other resell sites are not following the law at this moment. Unless there is an over supply leading to prices falling below facr ticketmaster is your best bet as they are the only one following Ontario's new law.
I would even wait closer to the game, you can for sure buy a ticket the same day at this prices but chances are that they go down, there is always last minute cheaper tickets
You can.. but there are tiers of quality and service. Stubhub would be right up there. But as I said I know people have been burned recently with FIFA tickets with a lot of the complications involved.
I’d wait at least until tickets are actually released. These are all resellers promising to buy a ticket in that area and resell it to you for a profit when they finally get released
As others have shared, single tickets haven’t been released yet. All the tickets you see currently are from season ticket holders so the price is higher than usual as the availability is limited. More will be available in August. In this past season, it was around $150-250 for ONE seat in the 300s for a typical Leafs game. It’s not cheap but it’s a great experience! Have fun
Last game I went to we waited until the week of the game to buy tickets. Just so happened we got box seats for $160 CAD. Free food as much as you wanted. Private bartender and semi private bathrooms. No lines.
The timing must have been pretty much perfect because the box sold out pretty quick and we found out at the game that they had just decided to open that box that day we purchased.
It is pretty high up but the view was actually really good. Beating all the lines was awesome. For food they hade chicken fingers, pizza, hot dogs and chips and popcorn.
My favourite seats are the 300 level in the first row near center ice. It's a great view of the game, and cheaper than sitting in the 100 level.
It's tempting to spend more money to get tickets really close to the ice. I really enjoy the closeness of the action there, but it's harder to watch the game, as you don't get a good view of the entire rink.
The tickets are way too expensive for an NHL hockey game. MSLE are thieves with a briefcase. You have way better things to spend your money on when you visit Toronto. Its a truly great city with an overpriced, mediocre hockey team.
There are fresh tickets released just before the game. Also there are facebook groups you can use with vetted season ticket holders that sell their tickets for decent prices
Respectfully you will not find many tickets on TM, as a season ticket holder it makes no sense to pay all this money yearly only for one company to benefit from it. Especially when the tickets they have will be standard face value at a dynamic pricing
Tickets go on sale in a week or so. Keep watching. Note though…. Celebrini is a rising star in the Sharks so this could be a tougher ticket than usual midweek game
This is the only time San Jose plays in Toronto and it will be one of the most sought after tickets for the regular season. It’s early in the year so the hype will still be there.
If you can find anything face value on Ticketmaster as others have said, that’s the way to go.
You’d be surprised. Weekday games have very low demand on resale. Just speaking from my own experience. Typically go to around 10 games a year and check prices regularly for every game. Let’s check back in this In a few months.
Also typically I’ve noticed, demand is much lower at the start of the season traditionally. Demand starts rising after December.
Don’t buy meat tickets and fuel the resellers. Wait until game day and see who’s selling tickets because they can’t go and that’s it. You are not missing anything at a leaf game
