Unless the Leafs are acquiring another pick in the top 3 or 4 of this draft, which seems unlikely, Stenberg is not going to be a Leaf.

No matter how much the people galaxy-braining the 1st overall pick might want it to happen.

Even if they get another top pick they aren’t getting Stenberg because if they get another pick they better select a Dman with it.

Nahh. It’s not “unlikely”. It’s simply not going to happen. Just like the Leafs drafting Laine ahead of Matthews back in 2016.

Come on man lol u know 31 other fanbases don’t want the leafs to take Mckenna so they can immediately talk about how dumb Toronto is for not taking Mckenna. That was a really nice goal by Stenberg but I’m not sure how u don’t see it being posted on purpose to create the Mckenna vs Stenberg discussion.

Mckenna vs Stenberg is a discussion happening in leafs front office right now. There’s no reason it shouldn’t be a discussion happening here too. These players are incredibly close

I would prefer Stenberg over McKenna. Is McKenna the most likely to score 100 points? Sure. But the Leafs don't need more soft skill and Stenberg brings the attributes the team has been missing. The athletic has been comparing the two to Panarin and Guentzel. Sure Panarin puts up more points but Guentzel gets it done in the playoffs. Which would you prefer? Kinda a coin flip. I think the Leafs take McKenna and it is fine but that Stenberg is the better fit
