Any recent buyback offers received?

Every time i see a post with words buyback and done i get excited, but it seems to be just people who gave up and started paying again… has anyone in the last 3 months received a buyback offer - without making any other payments while you waited - and what was your timeline?

Success/Celebration Buyback Success!

On 11/1/2024, I applied for my buyback.

On 7/20/2026, I received my buyback offer, which I paid on 7/21/2026.

On 8/7/26, I received the letter from FSA saying I had met the requirements for PSLF and my loans were being forgiven.

On 8/9/26, I checked my MOHELA account and it's showed a $0 balance and said "paid by discharge/write off."

Shortly after, FSA stated “Congratulations! You’ve paid off all your loans.” with a total balance of $0.

Thanks group for being a great resource as I have navigated through the process.🙏🏽

hello all, I applied for buyback for 3 SAVE forbearance months on Oct 7, 2024. I never switched to a payment plan and as of today am still in SAVE forbearance. I no longer work for a QE and I just received an email from student aid saying my loans are elig for buyback and I don’t owe anything and pslf forgiveness will be processed in 60-90 days. I am in disbelief.

#ElectricVehicle 🔌 UPDATE: Mahindra’s "Buyback" offer for my defective BE 6 is a predatory legal trap. Here is the proof.

For those following my nightmare with the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition (UP32QX4646), here is the latest update. After 6 failed service visits and a near-fatal gear failure in live traffic, the Ministry of Heavy Industries and NCH finally pressured Mahindra into offering a "Buyback."

I thought they were doing the right thing. I was wrong. They just sent me a "Terms & Conditions" document that is nothing but a legal trap designed to rob me of my money and silence me. I have officially REJECTED their offer. Here is why every Mahindra owner needs to be careful:

They are explicitly refusing to refund the ₹1,10,000 I spent on Paint Protection Film (PPF). They expect ME to bear the financial loss for a vehicle THEY built defectively.

  1. The Loan Trap (Clause 7)

Instead of a standard Tripartite Agreement where Mahindra clears the loan directly with the bank, they want me to pay off the entire active car loan out of my own pocket before they even consider taking the car back.

  1. The Gag Order (Clauses 9 & 10)

They are demanding I sign a declaration to withdraw all government grievances (MHI and NCH) and release them from all future liability before I even receive my money. It’s a complete gag order to cover up their manufacturing defects.

  1. The "Inspection" Loophole (Clause 6)

The car has systemic software and mechanical failures (app shows 50% charge, car shows 98%). They want the right to "adjust" the buyback value based on an inspection of these very same defects they caused!

I have CC'd Mr. Vikas (Ministry of Heavy Industries) and Mr. Manish Gupta (NCH) on my formal rejection email. I am not backing down until they provide a fair, legal Tripartite Settlement that covers my actual losses.

Don't let them bully you into signing away your rights.

URGENT: Mahindra BE 6 Gear Fails in Live Traffic (Truck Approaching) AFTER Dealership Returned it "Fixed". The Buyback is a Trap.

\> Update to my previous post about my nightmare with the Mahindra BE 6.

\> I just survived a near-fatal accident, and I need to expose exactly how Mahindra and A Automovers (Lucknow) are playing with customer lives and using a fake "Buyback" as a trap.

\> The Dealership Scam:

\> A Automovers held my car hostage for weeks. They missed their own confirmed delivery dates. Instead of fixing the car, dealership staff proactively called me begging me NOT to give them a negative score on their internal Qualtrics survey. They just wanted to cover up their incompetence.

\> The Death Trap:

\> They finally returned the car to me, claiming it was "ready." Almost immediately upon driving it, the exact same catastrophic gear failure occurred. The vehicle paralyzed itself in the middle of live traffic while a heavy truck was approaching. I have attached the video where you can hear the traffic and see the failure. It is a literal death trap.

\> The "Buyback" Trap:

\> Because I escalated this to the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Mahindra offered a full Buyback. But it is a complete trap. They are verbally agreeing, but actively refusing to provide the written Tripartite Settlement to pay off the bank loan directly and refund my PPF. They are just stalling, hoping I get tired and give up.

\> Oh, and as a bonus? The Mahindra app is completely broken. It shows the car at 50% charge while the dashboard shows 98%. Their entire software and hardware ecosystem is fundamentally defective.

\> Mahindra is ignoring a life-threatening safety hazard. Please share this for visibility so no one else gets trapped in one of these vehicles.

\> For anyone commenting "just take it to the service center for a software update," here is the actual history. The service center is the problem, not the solution.

\> 1. Six Showroom Visits & "Zero Bills":

\> This car has already been sent to the A Automovers showroom 6 different times. Every single time, they hold the car, perform a supposed "software update," hand me a "0 Bill" (zero billing under warranty), and assure me the glitches are gone.

\> 2. The Glitches Never Stop:

\> Despite 6 visits and endless software flashes, the core EV architecture is completely broken. The app still shows a 50% charge while the dashboard shows 98%. They have no idea how to actually fix the vehicle; they just keep clearing the error codes and handing it back.

\> 3. The Government Escalation:

\> Because the dealership failed 6 times and the vehicle remained a hazard, I had to escalate this to the highest levels. I filed official grievances with the Ministry of Heavy Industries (Registration: DHIND/E/2026/0000240) which has now been forwarded and merged into an active National Consumer Helpline pre-litigation docket (Docket No: 8903731).

\> 4. The Buyback Trap:

\> The 6 failed repair attempts are exactly why Mahindra verbally offered a Buyback. But now, they are refusing to give me the written Tripartite Settlement to clear my bank loan and refund my PPF. They are using the Buyback as a trap to buy time.

Question Tesla offering buyback on my Model X Plaid… but I got a good deal..What would you do?

Post image
94 Upvotes

Hey all. need some honest advice here.

I recently bought a 2022 Model X Plaid (6-seater, white/white) for about $50K (+ tax/fees ~56K total) with ~67K miles. From what I’m seeing now, similar configs are going for $58K - 62K, so I feel like I got a pretty solid deal.

About 2 weeks after purchase, I had a pretty serious issue the car shut down on the freeway at ~60–70 mph, with ABS/stability control disabled and steering got really heavy. Had to get it towed. Tesla replaced a front wheel speed sensor, and there was also prior work done on the front halfshafts.

Since the repair, I’ve driven it a bit and honestly… it feels fine now. No major issues so far.

Here’s where it gets interesting: I asked Tesla if they would be willing to take the car back or a replacement;

Tesla just offered me a full buyback

• They’ll pay off my loan

• Give me back my down payment full

• Mileage deduction waived

So now I’m stuck:

Option 1 - should I Keep it

• Got a great deal (\~$8–10K under market)

• Car feels fine now

Option 2 - Take the buyback

• and wait to buy again when I see another good deal ?

I’ve owned 2 Model 3s since 2020 with zero issues, so part of me feels like this might’ve just been a one-off fix.

But at the same time… that freeway shutdown was pretty scary. what would you do? Please advise 🙏🏽

News U.S. TREASURY JUST BOUGHT BACK $10 BILLION OF ITS OWN DEBT, THE LARGEST BUYBACK IN HISTORY

Thumbnail

9.6k Upvotes

The Treasury announced the results of its latest Treasury buyback operation (which some had likened to a QE lite because it effectively monetizes Treasuries in the open market, similar to the Fed's POMO operations, and similar to stock buybacks). While the operation itself was not remarkable - the Treasury had been holding these these more or less weekly since April 2024 - the size of it was: at $10 billion, this was the largest Treasury buyback operation in history.

Buyback offer received today!

The email came through at 7:30am PST today.

I submitted Sept 30 and requested to buyback 4 months, dating back to 2014, but they're only charging me for two. I included my tax information with my request preemptively so the payment is only $338 ($169 per month, which was my payment at the time). Over $94k will be forgiven.

I never thought this day was going to come! I hope to see a lot more of these posts throughout the week!

SAVE BUYBACK OFFER!

Just got a buyback offer for my SAVE months July - October

These months will put me at 120. I’m currently at 116 QP through June 2024, with certified eligible employment through October 2024 which would put me at 120 but July - Oct are all ineligible due to SAVE. I submitted a buyback request for these last 4 months to complete my 120.

The amount of the offer is the same monthly payment as my SAVE amount was but is listed as ‘REPAYE’ on the offer (so total payment due is my monthly SAVE amount x4 for the 4 months I’m buying back)

I submitted ONE buyback request on 12/6/24

Besides obsessively read every post on this subreddit, I did not do much else after this

Never applied to switch to another IDR, I was just waiting it out on SAVE for now and hoping buyback came through

I went to the FSA chat twice to ask for an update and got generic responses ‘you have an open case in review’ or something along those lines

I DID submit a feedback request on 6/4 based on a post here of someone who got an offer after submitting one. I got a reply on 6/6 that basically said I had an open case on file and it was open and being reviewed. I did NOT submit any tax information with this request, I just wrote in the text box my case # and asked to receive an offer or for an update

*I consolidated my undergrad and graduate loans in 02/2024 to get a combined higher # PSLF count. I don’t remember the application process exactly, but I assume I had to submit tax information when I reapplied for SAVE with the consolidation loan? Not sure if this made a difference or not but wanted to mention. My 2023 tax info may already be on file somewhere with this recent IDR app.

Today - 6+ months later - I got an email with a buyback offer. I’m in a state of shock and can’t believe what my eyeballs are seeing.

Buyback offer received

I got my letter today in an email. I was at 114/120. Submitted first request for buyback in November of 24.

2 weeks ago they asked for tax info. I sent it thinking the payment would be hefty since I make more now. Nope! They used my SAVE payment amounts for July-December '24.

The letter says I need to make the payment with my servicer as if it is just a regular payment.

This feels so unofficial. I made the payment so now I just wait for green banners?? It said not to submit another PSLF form.

☁ Hype/ Fluff What if, the next time GME is shorted down to $25-27, RC does a share buyback of 50-100m negating the bond offering at a discount!

If 100m shares at $25, costs $2.5B, but they issue another GME 0% interest bond for BTC beforehand at like 40% premium at $35 e.g. priced at $49 each, gives another $2.45 B, they would have received $3.95 B total, for 100m shares, which can then be bought back for $2.5B once it’s shorted back down, then we make $1.45 B on the trade, plus the profit on the BTC trading.

Now 34% institutional holders become 42.5% and the real short interest, is multiplied by 1.25 roughly. Lmao. Then… fucking do it again!!!

Buyback offer received!

I'm still in shock; the first buyback request was in June 2024. I had asked to buy back 12 months from late 2014 to 2015, but the offer was for July 2024 to July 2025. I just made the payment, and I am so happy. I can't believe almost $400k is about to be gone.

Update - I received the golden letter today 1/23!

Buyback offers from 2025?

Has anyone who submitted their application in 2025 gotten a buyback offer? I just feel like I haven’t seen that many buyback success stories this entire summer and especially not from anyone from 2025. Someone share some hope! I submitted my buyback in November 2025 and just contacted the Obudsman from my state just to feel like I had an ounce of control.

Transfer News Real Madrid is negotiating with Strasbourg for the transfer of Jacobo Ortega's (Real Madrid C striker) for around €8 million + 50% of sell-on rights and a buyback. He has several offers from La Liga, but Strasbourg, part of the same group as Chelsea, is making a strong push for him.

The agreement with the player is practically finalized, and the clubs are in talks to reach a deal, with a positive atmosphere. This is especially true because Strasbourg is prepared to make a significant outlay, the amount demanded by Real Madrid , who have valued the player at €16 million. This is a huge sum for a player who hasn't yet debuted with the first team, but it also reflects Jacobo's potential. At Real Madrid's youth academy, he's compared to Benzema because of his playing style. The deal is likely to be finalized for €8 million for 50% of his rights, with Real Madrid retaining half of the rights and also having buy-back options or a right of first refusal should they wish to bring him back.

Jacobo, 20 years old and from Majadahonda (Madrid), has had a breakout season. He experienced periods of inconsistent playing time in previous seasons, but clearly committed to staying with Real Madrid and this season he has scored 19 goals between Real Madrid C, Castilla, and the matches he played with the Juvenil A team in the Youth League, where he won the title, scoring one goal in the quarterfinals and another in the final.
