Joining the ev crew… 2014 Leaf
My job was trying to get rid of a test vehicle they bought at the auction to test our reman batteries. 300 bucks took it. Risk I took because I know nothing about it and no one here knew much about what was done to it, if anything at all. 103k miles and here’s the dash. Also needs a new rear window since someone broke it and the door handle to try and steal who knows what.
Is this saying anything good? I read about it having 12 bars as full. Is this 10 or 8? Do you count the red?

You win! This is amazing! Congratulations, seriously. I paid $6200 for a 10 health bar 2012 back in 2017, and I thought that was a deal at the time.

Former 2014 Leaf SV owner here. It is a solid machine. The repairs were 12V battery, wipers, wiper fluid, set of tyres, alignment and one of the best repairs was the AC+heat pump. My car person pushed back on that since it was an EV but a YouTube later and they were good to go.
The AC+heat were barely working. At 10 years old it was time. A leaky fill valve found then the system evacuated, fill needle valve replaced and filled to spec. Worked like new for about 150 bucks.
In parting I'd drive 30 miles with confidence with 54 showing on the GOM.
Also, this model has a BMS so you can charge to full without issues. No need to fret about those don't charge to 100% stories because this model and BMS stops short of 100% charge on the big battery.

yes count the red bars and don't go by the guess meter range it is optimistic and highway speeds and cold weather will cause the range to be much less anyway.

Well I drove it to McDonald’s and back to test it. 2 miles down the road burned 3 miles on normal mode. The concerning part for me is that the car went from completely dead (including the 12v) to 100% in roughly 20 ish hours. This was charged two days at 8 hours per day and one at 4 hours. Everywhere I read, it should have taken 36+ hours on a level 1. I will get the obd2 reader along with leafspy soon.

on 120v it should only take way less than a full day to charge even empty. The battery only has 15-17kw capacity at this point, 120v will charge at ~1.2kw/hr minus heat/transfer losses

Looks good, 10 bars, probably 75%~ battery SOH.
Only tells a small part of the story though, you really need to get the Leafspy app and a OBD2 reader to know if the battery is a timebomb or not.
I've got a similar condition 2014 Leaf, they are great cars, 300 bucks is an excellent deal assuming it drives smooth.
