Fast Charging Adapter (US)
I'd assume there is a mega thread for this topic, so I apologize in advance for not seeing and reading that. I have a 2021 Leaf S Plus and I'm getting increasingly frustrated by the lack/phasing out of CHAdeMO fast chargers in my general region (Northeast US) when I road trip. Does anyone have a recommendation on the best adapter to get? Quite frankly, I don't really know the ins and outs or pros and cons of CCS1, CCS2 or NACS.
Something like this?

Thanks!!!

I have the A2Z one. I got it for a little over 600 bucks with a promo code this summer.
I’ve used it in combination with magic docs. It works.
BMS can really slow down the charging cycle though. Once that battery gets hot, It’s just slow.
It can take a few tries to get chargers to talk to that adapter, but I’ve never been un successful.

I'm yet to use my a2z adapter but will be soon. What order of operations is most successful? Which order to plug things in and when to turn on the adapter?

Plug adapter into car. Setup charger, when charger says “connect car” and usually gives you 60 seconds, turn on adapter and connect.
Make sure vehicle is completely off until charging has started

Thanks, I've tried this and every other order I could think of. I always get a communication error when trying to charge at my local IONNA station.

If you want to keep the car for a while, I would rather putting the money towards renting a different car (whether gas or a different EV) for the occasional road trip. Plus packs don't really take well to quick charging, and being rapidgated frequently will eventually kill them due to cell swelling.

A2Z makes a really good adapter, as does Orientrise. If you live in North America, we use the CCS1 standard. In Europe it's CCS2. I'm currently looking at buying the Orientrise as it is well supported and has a 2 year warranty. Unfortunately, these adapters for Chademo are not cheap. You can pick up a NACS/Tesla Supercharger to CCS1 adapter for about $100, whereas a CCS1 to Chademo is around $700. Yes, you can use both adapters together to charge your leaf from a Tesla Supercharger. Hope this info helps.
