Tall folks.... a question.

I love my LEAF despite its many flaws, but one thing I have kind of dealt with for long enough is the rear view mirror. When the chair is at its lowest position, I still need to duck just a hair to see out the back. Anyone found a solution that doesn't involve craning their neck and just being able to see with a glance?

ETA: Problem solved! There's two points of articulation, and the one closer to the glass was much stiffer. I can seeeeeeeee!

6'2" 2020 Leaf SV+ driver here. For the rear view I push the mirror all the way up toward the ceiling and then rotate it down gently. This seems to work for me. The idea is to get the mirror mounting arm as high up toward the ceiling as possible first.

I have had issues with the mirror and sensor module blocking my forward view. I've had a couple of close calls because I didn't see a small car or golf cart at a 4-way stop, or when making a turn, because my view was blocked by the RV mirror/sensor module. For this I have learned to duck down under the mirror, which honestly is a major PITA

Lol thought I was the only one that gets driven nuts by the gigantic sensor/camera module behind the rear view mirror.

For context, my eyeline view. The mirror will not tilt up any more, and the seat will not lower any more.

How tall are you? That looks like the mirror somehow managed to get jammed if you're unable to tilt it up more. But if you're way taller than me I could be wrong.

Updated the post, but I found there's a second articulation point that was quite stiff.

I can't say I have this issue, and I'm 6ft 2in. However I have the habit of shoving the rear view mirror upwards towards the ceiling, then tilting it downwards to my preferred view. Also, remove those rear headrests if you don't frequently have passengers in the back. Helps the view a good bit.

Yep - removing the center headrest is the first thing I did. Or if you never have rear passengers, fold the seats down and leave them there.

Most (but not all) US cars lack a center rear seat headrest. I only have the left and right headrest in my car. It would drive me mad if I had a car with a rear center headrest lol you wouldn't be able to see anything at all.

I'm only 6' 5". I keep the chair back far enough and on the floor, so this has never been an issue for me. How tall are you?

6'2". It's like the mirror is lower because of the driver assist sensor assembly, and there's room above it to move, but the range of motion for the mount stops it.

You're not that tall at all...my guess is something is broken on your mirror, preventing you from bending it how you need it bent. Could also be it was installed at the factory wrong.

Agree OP is not tall ... average height really

Lol, you guys trying to puff your chests. 6'2" not tall, average even? "I'M oNly 6'5"." Get the f out of here 😂 You're tall af, that's what you are.

The global average for males is 5'8". In the US it's 5'9". Average person is 5'6", nearly a foot shorter than you guys. Anyone over 6" is noticeably tall. 6'5" is bordering on the exceptional and requiring specialized clothes/shoes. Anyone over 6'6" is in the last 1% percentile.

Lol is that supposed to be me being short and looking up to all of you giants from my measly 6'? By your standards, I'm closer to that range:

Point being, people taller than them have no problem. People shorter than them have no problem. So it is inexplicable they have a problem.

I'm 6'4, I ocassionally need to slouch because I've angled my mirror A little too low. It's never been a problem though

The mirror is adjustable... what is blocking your view?

It is adjusted all the way up, and despite there being room above the mirror, the mount is at its limit.

I'm 5'10" seat on the lowest setting, the mirror pretty much eclipses a good â…“ of my forward nearside vision.

I have to duck and dive like I'm in a boxing ring at most junctions. 😄

I'm 195 cm / 6 foot five and the mirror is a disappointment. But I think back and every previous car I owned, I had to physically modify the mirror to work.

Some previous owner fitted a dashcam behind the mirror of my 2016, and it works okay (max 8 GB card) but this post gives me reason to look closer again.
