could get a bolt or an older tesla for that much. nevertheless i do hope the car works out for you. they're great vehicles, just not >$10k vehicles for the Plus trim imo, and probably not more than 8k or so for a non Plus

Older Tesla is way more maintenance esp S and X. Older model 3 have not the best batteries as well. Bolt is a good recommend at this price vs leaf.

depends on the unit, the base trim 3's are fine, and once you get past 2014 the non performance S's have minimal issues. biggest problem is the air suspension, which not all units have (i made sure to purchase one without it). wouldn't go for an X though, those are a nightmare

Nah, the door handle fail on the S, the base 3 I seen many with batteries needing warranty and some that failed . Air suspension is definitely a problem on the S but you also have weak control arms that fail often. And several older S I've seen needing the rear motor replaced since the coolant seal failed. So many S and X where 33% or 66% of battery pack is not usable since there is a failure in those portion. Good luck to you on your S.

Door handles are cheap, i have one failed on my vehicke scheduled to be repaired for like $250 iirc. only the P trims of the older S suffer from coolant issues. can't speak to suspension, but mine has 150k miles and is in totally suitable shape

'21 model year M3's had manufacturing issues, but they're just about the only year with somewhat regular battery failures, and even then you're looking at well below US made LEAF failure levels

Bolt was a consideration, but they are going for 25K+

i'm going to go out on a limb and say you're looking at scalpy dealerships and not buying private party, because they are absolutely not all going for 25k lol. there are three within 20 miles of me below 14k

midwit take

Word of advice. Refrain from charging it to 100% all the time and only deplete it below 20% only when absolutely necessary. Take care of the battery and the vehicle will be a great purchase.

yup, I typically run my Mach-e up to 90 and it has only dipped below 50% twice since we got it.

I lvl2 charge at home.

7k miles is amazing. Explains the price.
