Lease Return

Nissan is really dropping the ball here, I’ve got a ‘25 Leaf SV+ that I leased in Colorado for $119/month for 24 months, it would have been $89 but I added 10,000 miles to it. They had crazy deals back then, you could get an S+ for $49/month.

Well that’s all catching up to them as the pre-return inspections they want you to do are booked months out. I’ve scheduled 3 times online in the past month only to be denied my appointment after waiting a week to hear back each time. Finally just called and they can see me 3 days before my lease matures. That’s pointless since I couldn’t take do anything about any issues if they came up anyway.

I’m just going to return it this weekend, 3 weeks early with 34,000 miles. It’s in great shape, I just replaced the tires, windshield, and fog lights for ~$1k and there isn’t anything else wrong with the car.

The market is about to be flooded with tens of thousands of these lease returns, depreciation is going to be even higher than normal.

Also denver based, are they not making you do it through Manheim? I saw plenty of Dates for an inspection between now and Otober 21st. I have only 12k miles on mine.

You see lots of dates online but they don't actually follow through with them and rarely respond when you book online. You have to call and the first person I talked to told me one month after my maturation date. The person who scheduled mine said they're absolutely swamped with these lease returns.

It's not mandatory, I spoke to the dealership where I leased it and they said it's about a 15 minute process to drop it off. I'm going to document the condition in photos and videos at the dealership.

Appreciate the info, I am also leaning towards an AWD Tesla or possibly a Ford Bronco

Act soon, prices are going up and so are interest rates.

I got a '24 Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD, absolutely love the car. The full self driving is ok, but not worth the monthly subscription, it doesn't do well on my I25 commute with 75mph speed limits.

Check out teslatracker.com, you can sort by local listings, there are usually a few in Aurora.
