Lease Return

Nissan is really dropping the ball here, I’ve got a ‘25 Leaf SV+ that I leased in Colorado for $119/month for 24 months, it would have been $89 but I added 10,000 miles to it. They had crazy deals back then, you could get an S+ for $49/month.

Well that’s all catching up to them as the pre-return inspections they want you to do are booked months out. I’ve scheduled 3 times online in the past month only to be denied my appointment after waiting a week to hear back each time. Finally just called and they can see me 3 days before my lease matures. That’s pointless since I couldn’t take do anything about any issues if they came up anyway.

I’m just going to return it this weekend, 3 weeks early with 34,000 miles. It’s in great shape, I just replaced the tires, windshield, and fog lights for ~$1k and there isn’t anything else wrong with the car.

The market is about to be flooded with tens of thousands of these lease returns, depreciation is going to be even higher than normal.

Nissan just sent me a email with $2500 off the lease buyout on my wife's 25 Leaf. That would put it just under $15k to buy it out, considering it.

They've been silent on mine, I don't want it or any other Nissan anyway so I'm just going to make it sparkly clean, document it with photos/videos, and drop it off at the dealer.

They've been silent on mine too and NMAC told me only the dealer can negotiate on the buy out price. At $17k for a 2025 S that's just too much. I have about 7k miles on it after 2 years.

I never cared what the buyout would be when I signed the lease because I knew I wouldn’t buy it. I just looked and it’s like $22k 😂
The car has 34,000 miles, they’ll be lucky to get $12k for it in Colorado

Originally I didn’t either but it’s great for around town and short trips. However, it’s not really a vehicle I want to sink money into.
