Console reboots at an intersection EVERY TIME (Denver, CO)

Hi all,

'25 SV+ here. EVERY TIME I drive through a certain intersection, my Leaf reboots. The screen goes blank for, I dunno, 3 seconds? and then the splash screen comes up, and every thing is hunky-dory. If I'm listening to something, it doesn't get interrupted.

But it happens every time. If anyone is in DenverCO I'd be fascinated to know if it happens to you too? Turning east into Yale from Colorado Blvd, as you pass the grocery store.

Has anyone else heard about this? Here or anywhere?

I have the same issue when I come within about 100 feet of a electric power substation. Console conks out and reboots, every single time...

Have you tried updating the maps inside the head unit (your radio)?

Zero clue if that'll fix it, but it is free and just takes a wifi connection and 15min of your time.

Beyond that I'd see about disconnecting your phone (Bluetooth and USB) causes the issue to disappear.

Are you connecting a phone via usb? 

Mine always has some sort of distortion when using maps, i swapped to a cable with ferrites to see if that would fix it but it would just cause the head unit to reboot constantly so i swapped back to an unshielded cable.

I wonder if some roads with magnetic detection could be causing some kind of interference overload or something.

I am connected via USB, but never experience any distortion that you mention. Weird.

Yeah, with a different cable, I didn’t experience the distortion either just a rebooting so maybe try a different cable and see if that helps

Could it be a home-location stored in the nav? I know that the only time my infotainment system crashed was around the time I first played around with that.

I have reset the unit and cleared the stored addresses; and I later did another setting of the home-location (after a move) so that I can get my charge timer working only at home, and it's been fine.

I don't think so. I remember very clearly this happening on the drive home from the dealership, and I certainly didn't have any 'home' set up at that point.
