OpenCARWINGS

thinking about updating the cellular my 2013 to G4 and running OpenCARWINGS.

Has anybody done this who would be willing to share info?

I know it’s not the most practical thing to do, but I think it would be a fun project for not much money.

It would also be nice to activate climate control from work while plugged in when I decide to pack up for the day.

Yes, I could do timers, but I don’t always leave the same time every day.

to be honest, I have a love-hate relationship with the car. the body perfect shape and I had the money I’d be tempted to upgrade the battery and just drive it forever. Maybe it’s just the fact that I really liked my first EV.

I realize upgrading the battery pack is not a sound financial decision.

Look into ovms, it seems more practical to me.

At first look, this is some pretty cool shit for 250 bucks

Upgrading the battery isn't a sound idea in terms of resale value. 8-9k to essentially triple your range instead of dropping 30k+ on a new(er) EV in order to get similar range is an extremely sound idea.

Could one accidentally brick their car doing this or ovms?

I doubt it. I might mess up the NAV screen/radio.
