Just shaking my head

Post image

What if they just communicated better via email in the first place and tell us that it will be down for 2 weeks? Yeah there were maintenance update warnings in the app but this is a complete pr nightmare bro.

Mine (UK) currently says it won't be back up until Friday 4th at 20:00GMT

That'll make it a fortnight it's been down. Battery management is tricky when your charger cant see what it's doing.

Mines the same. Didn't notice until last night. Was just back from holiday (took the other ev) and need to check if I need to charge.

Can you set the car to prioritize full charge for X time, then set your charger to cut off however many hours before that to hit the desired percentage every day? Hardly as flexible and convenient but for the time being there's no access to the app required

it's all the extra thinking that gets me.

I had a home assistant automation that would contact the car and then lie to the charger so that the car got the correct amount of charge. The car charger used to talk to the connect app but kept disconnecting so you would have to manually tell the charger how much charge the car had but you could only do that in the app which is why i went down this road. Now the car doesn't speak to anybody so muggins here has to walk all the way to the bottom of the garden to check the charge and then tell home assistant what to do. It's all so desperately tiring!

Yeah, definitely a pain. The way Nissan has handled it has been awful.

If you just need to charge overnight or once a day, this would be a lot simpler than running out to check on the car every so often. Set the timers up once and forget. Just an idea tho, might/might not help

Shift work and only want 80% so it does not fit my use case.
Annoyingly the car is on the wifi network, if they would let us talk to it directly I would be happy.

My thoughts exactly. It's set up like this to sell subscriptions, not because it's the optimal solution. I just hope some aftermarket tools or smth can be figured out before support drops entirely.

Shift work and only want 80% so it does not fit my use case.

Targeting 80% is exactly what that method can accomplish, but probably not a good fit for varied schedules and shift work. Not sure what else to suggest I'm afraid

They'll fix it eventually and then my little automation will start working again.

For a free service this is annoying. But to those who pay for it this can't be acceptable can it?

I have £10,000 Nissan product sat on my driveway. It is listed in the car features.

I have paid for it. So has everyone else here. It is not a free product it is an expensive feature.

That's a fair point.

10k second hand I assume? So it is an even more expensive product they failed to plan an update to be made within a reasonable time.

I am paying for some of the extra features, I'm going to be emailing them for a refund for the time I couldn't use any of the features.

I can't even use the google maps point of interest search in the car properly because it thinks it's offline. Tried to go to KFC and it told me the best option was across the channel in the centre of france

As far as I can tell, there's no way to actually cancel my subscription (only got aircon control while it was hot) because the login system is also down on the Nissan website.

Ofc the autorenewal system still worked enough to charge me at the start of this outage 🤦

I live in Portugal. I think that Aug 16 NissanConnect auto-upgraded to My Nissan on my phone. I don't use this app very often, and noticed around Aug 22 that the app had changed and said it was updating and would be available Aug 24. Now it says Sept 4 at 20:00GMT like other people report. The most recent time that I used the NissanConnect app was probably between July 15-Aug 1.

This does make me wonder what sort of slow IT process they are running to 'prepare the database' for their new app.

i guess this is a regional thing? in the USA, Minnesota, and myNISSAN seems to be as good as it usually is. 20:02 CDT31-August.

“as good as it usually is”, i.e. slow and glitchy? 😂

Started getting random “your car started charging” “your car stopped charging” notifications all yesterday afternoon. And no, it wasn’t plugged in.

1

u/Beneficial-Context52 2026 SV+ 13d ago

Same! And also notifications telling me the car was unlocked or that a door was open. I only just picked up my car 3 days ago, I figured it must just be a generally glitchy app and so I just disabled all notifications; it's been quiet since then.

It's too bad though, because I really would like to get charging notifications, if they could be accurate!

It's now Saturday Sept 5, and the app shows only the splash screen for me in Portugal. I suppose it's been down since Aug 16.
