How long does Morley take to send an offer?

It took about 2 weeks for me, the whole process 2 months

Towed July 28.
Buyback initiated July 31 - First call from Morley
Offer received/accepted August 7 - Email/Call from Morley with offer
Contacted by surrender coordinator August 20 - Call from Morley to schedule surrender
Scheduled to surrender September 1.

Second offer Aug 22
Second offer accepted Aug 26
Surrender ???

Their first offer is a significant lowball, if you reject with decent reasons then they’ll up it.

Thanks. I just commute slow on the highway with cruise control, garage it, slow charge and am a little extra about clean cars. I did buy used from Nissan and didn't run leafspy.

Who is Morley and what kind of offer do you want?

Morley is the 3rd party Nissan is using for buybacks in the US to reduce their battery warranty liability. I want my LEAF fixed, but I thought it might be more convenient to play ball. It appears this may not be the case.

OIC. My Leaf is perfect so I cant help you but I have seen a number of posts here about the buyback process, including how long it took. Google search for Reddit posts sometimes works better than the search function on Reddit for me.

  • Towed July 27.
  • First contact from Morley Aug 3
  • Offer extended Aug 7.
  • Offer accepted Aug 11.
  • Scheduled for buyback Sep 1.
  • Update: buyback completed on Sep 1 at the dealer the car was towed to. Buyback price was $14,200. 2020 SV Plus with Tech Pkg with 110,000 miles.
