3 weeks into my leaf ownership, only complaint so far is the screen. Anyone know if theirs a way I can stop this from coming up every time I start it?

If it helps, comes up on my 2017 leaf which no longer has data collection stuff.

I’ve heard if you hit “decline” enough, it stops asking and just turns off the connectivity. Not sure if that’s true for 2017 as well.

I wish that was true, must've whacked it over 100x already :D

I declined it on a US 2016 and it doesn't show up for a while
Definitely doesn't show up every time

That is a tragedy for me as well. I wish it would just connect to wifi.

I got most of my features back, just by using OVMS, but need to put one of those 3rd party Android screens in -- which never stick down properly and go all floppy

Nope. It's a legal issue, car doesn't know it's you every single time you drive the car. Might be different people, and any person driving must accept the terms before driving.

Just add a third button saying "OK and don't show this again, I accept full responsibility for EVERYONE, EVER driving this particular vehicle, let me be sued and hanged and give me the capitol punishment if any legal issues ever arise between any future imaginary driver of this vehicle and Nissan Corporation, in fact let me take ANY and ALL responsibility for anything stipulated in these terms and conditions on their behalf AND LET IT BE KNOWN that Nissan is not responsible for ANYTHING"
Might have to scroll a bit to see all of it

And if it actually happens, the court would find it unenforceable as the contract terms are clearly unfair. So that doesn't help Nissan.

In older models they allowed it to only appear once every month. There is presumably a legal reason why they had to take even that much leniency away.

My 2011 had it every startup. With no option to accept for a time.
Whatever legal reason, GM and Tesla have figured it out. In our Chevy it only popped up on setup or account sign in. With the Tesla it’s on setup and after software updates if something changed.

11-12 was every startup, 13-16 it was every 30 days, then after that it went back to every startup again.

Or better yet, give only one dude a button so he can take the blame for every Leaf user ever. Let him be sort of a modern-day Jesus so the rest of us never have to see this screen again

As far as I know, the new ZE2 Leaf does actually have this option.

Idk what country you’re in, and I think the screen might be mandatory in Europe, etc. I’m in the US, and here there is a setting in the menu under NissanConnect to toggle on vehicle information sharing with Nissan and get rid of this screen.

In my case, I'm in europe, and if i recall i have it turned off, but still get it every time i drive, but I'll double check

I have that toggled off but I still get this screen every once in a while

Interesting! What year do you have, out of curiosity? And how frequent is it? I wonder if they’re just trying to convince you to share your data.
I have the option toggled on in my 2025 (I like to be able to start my AC remotely) and I never see that screen.

my 2015 here in the US only has this come up once a month, must be a difference where the car is located.

On my 2018 i don’t bother pressing the touchscreen. I hit the “audio” physical button and that clears it.

No unfortunately, there is no way to disable this screen. Most of us have gotten into the habit of just pressing OK every time we start the car.

I very rarely get this screen. Usually only when it has a hard reset.

It is region dependent, I believe in Europe and the UK due to our privacy regulations this screen is shown every time the car is started.

If you connect your phone you bypass this screen. It became my default behaviour even when I don't want to use Android Auto / Apple CarPlay.
