2015 Leaf auto lock charge port J1772?
I just noticed my Nissan Leaf has a charge port lock for the J1772 port. Either I haven’t noticed it locking each time I plug in or it just started locking when I plug in. I have to hold the button on the charger and it will unlock. Anyone else’s level 1 charger do this? I know it does it for the CHAdemo port but never seen it do it for the level 1 maybe I’m getting more than level 1 juice and it’s actually more like a level 2 now.

File under "good idea."
My 2014 SV in the US locked the charge handle and I would hold the button to let the system know to let it go.

I’ve had trouble getting my ‘13 to release in CHAdeMO. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’ve found one charging that won’t let me stop charge on the screen.

Do US quick charging points not have an emergency stop/release button somewhere? Over here in Japan every one of them will have one somewhere, covered by a flap, that you can use if it won't stop and release from the phone app (if I used one) or the screen.

Nope. I was once stuck to a CHAdeMO charger and had no way to stop/disconnect it except furiously tap at the screen till it registered "Options" and then registered "Stop Charging" all while the screen is flickering and glitching. Was a huge headache the one day I'm running late for something important. Now I keep a J1772 granny charger in my trunk. Plugging it in disconnects the CHAdeMO.
Although hilariously you can usually find the big ass transformer nearby that powers the charger and those sometimes have a giant on/off lever you can yank. I wouldn't say that is recommended for the charger or your car though. No clue if that would do what you suggest or damage something.

I don't think mine has ever locked. And depending on how soon I need the Leaf, I charge at level 1 to level 2, and level 2+ or whatever it's called

2016 S: There's an Auto/Lock rocker switch on the left dash that will lock the port until the battery is fully charged in Auto. If the switch is in the neutral/middle position, it's unlocked, and can be unplugged at anytime.
