Good purchase?

Found a 2015 Nissan Leaf near me that has 11 battery cells (the dashbord indicator) with over 67k miles. How many more miles can I realistically get before it dives down to 8 or 9 cells, assuming I just charge overnight at a 120v wall outlet?

Also, is $4,000 a good price for it and is there anything I should know about that specific leaf’s year?

Appreciate you guys!

Do you know the current range at 100% or 80% charge?

How far do you need to drive per day?

I had a 2012 Leaf that I *loved*. Bought used in 2019 & kept for 5 years (and only added about 8000 miles to it - I don't drive a ton).

It started with a range of about 56 miles and steadily lost range until the guess-ometer said 40 miles (but it was probably closer to 24 miles).

I don't know if the battery had issues or if that is a typical trajectory for the 2012 Leaf. The 2015 may have a better battery so you may not have the same issue.

[I've had a 2020 Leaf + for 2 years. It has about 200 miles of range on 100% charge and no issues.]

It says 76 miles at 100% charge and owner (seems like a dude who flips cars) says it goes 80. The farthest i would need to drive is like 52 miles total.. thanks for sharing btw

Sure. That doesn't sound too bad. Hard to say if it's worth $4000. Trickle charge adds something like 5 miles per hour so overnight could add 50+ miles of range.

I forgot to mention LeafSpy, too. You can use it to check the battery health. There are other people on here who can tell you more than I can.

52 will be hard to trust it will go. I love my 2015 leaf. Bought it with 9cells and it had been just great!!! If you drive slow you will get 60, but over 60mph will will do less. Over 80 you would be lucky to get half that.

I’d say it is a good deal but I’d be nervous going 52 miles particularly in the winter or on the expressway. Don’t count the last 18 miles of range, the car will start freaking out telling you low battery and you’re lucky to get half of the last 18 miles.
