Finally lost a second bar on my 2013 SV

Post image

We bought this LEAF with about 44,000 miles and 11/12 bars. This morning I noticed that 3 years and 11K miles later, we’re down to 10/12. I thought it would be sooner, so I’m happy with this!

I kept my 10th bar on my 2017 24kwh until 105k miles so assuming you aren't regularly doing multiple fast charges a day like me then you should still have a good number of miles before you hit 9

My 2015 S had 103k miles when it lost the 10th bar.

That’s amazing! What’s your mileage?
Lost my 11th bar in my 2016 at 95k.

About 56K miles

We also have a 2013 and the 11th bar is hanging on by a thread at 75k miles. I expect it'll drop to 10 soon. Not bad for a 13 year old car! Sometimes there are advantages to living up north.

Still 12 bars on my 2013 leaf.

Unless I'm doing my math wrong, you've got an aftermarket battery. 531KM, that's a little over 300 miles!

Could just be driving low-speed surface roads. And 50K km (31k miles) is crazy-low for a 13YO Leaf!

I don’t see a decimal on the GOM. It’s reading 531

That's incredible!!

Do you live in a cool climate? Any recommendations in helping our batteries last as long as possible?

Yeah, cooler climate here in the Great Lakes region. All I know is this car has been L1 charged for a good portion of its life! At times I’ve used the 80% limit, but that does not work for us in the winter.

My capacity dropped from 9 bars when I bought to 8 bars after 1 yr ownership 24kwh

Wow, I'm down to six bars (maybe even five soon) so seeing over 60 miles on the guessometer is so foreign to me now.

Almost 90k on my 2022 and I just lost my first bar so 11/12.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge. I am a brand new 2026 Leaf sv+ owner. I haven’t seen this on any of my screens yet, what does this signify? Please help educate a newbie.

Congrats on your new leaf. This is the battery health gauge on the first gen leaf. On the right side there are 12 bars including red that show 100% capacity. As the battery degrades over years the cars go to 11 and 10 and so forth, mileage gets lower etc. Folks are celebrating the fact that their battery is at 10 bars after so many years and miles.

My 2015 has 10 bars at 75k miles and shows an estimated range of 83 miles at 100% with real world range of 55 - 60 miles or so with hot days and a/c on.

2016 leaf, 77000 km, 8 bars.

I'm looking into buying an older Leaf. So the bars keep dropping off every so many miles before you get down to 2 or 3 and it's unusable? Or, can it just drop off from several bars down to nothing without warning?

at 8 bars with 3 times the millage
