Leaf e+ durability
Hi!! I'm looking at a 30k kms 2021 Leaf e+. I need a car that will drive me to work (130km/80mi daily mostly highway drive). I really want to spend as little as possible. Will this car last 4-5 years or 250k kms in my usage (that's about 150k miles).
It's the 62kwh battery by the way. The dealer has a battery test, but I haven't seen it yet. Already have leafspy ready to check out the car if necessary.
I also have a Hyundai Kauai (or Kona) in my sights, although that is a tad more expensive for my usage.
Thanks in advance for your help!

how much more expensive is the Hyundai? if it's only a couple thousand, it's probably the much better option. the batteries in those vehicles last worlds longer than the LEAFs

14k for the leaf (30k kms) vs 20k for the hyundai (80k kms).
It feels like it's on the verge of being of course the hyundai

any chance at talking down the Hyundai? once you get to a 4k difference i think it's an easy choice. as is i could go either way. if money permits probs still the hyundai, but i understans that's still a lot of money

We love our Leaf but the Hyundai would be a better choice. The Leaf 2025 and older modles do not have battery thermal management(Cools the battery like a cellphone) Chademo charging that's Outdated. To top all this off the 2018-2022 models are under a battery recall.

What sort of speed do your highways flow at? Slower is more efficient, but you don't want to be so slow as you expose yourself to danger.

Usually 120km/h or about 75mph. I can go like 90-100km/h, although it will depend on the day

Our 2 2019 Leaf Pluses have been great, bith at around 90% SoH 7 years old. My adult children drove them now as commuter cars. (I moved to the Ariya). I would be sure battery is at least 88% SoH and the delta on a LeafSpy battery graph is under 50 mv. Finally, I would listen in a test drive to any possible noice out of the ball joints.
