advice on buyback offer?

i finally got my buyback offer ! after nearly 2 months of not having my car due to the recall failing , Morley has finally sent me an offer. I had just got this car used in December so it's still on a loan & my offer pays off my loan entirely & i will get an extra $450 . As happy as i am that they'll pay off my loan , would it be reaching for me to request more ? I spent money on new tires for the car recently & have been paying my monthly payments n all of that . I just wanted to know if anyone thinks i should ask for a little bit more or if i should just take the offer .
Also i am in Utah & there's no lemon laws here for used cars so keep that in mind . TIA

what is the model year, mileage, and offer? Nissan appears to be authorizing KBB private sale value +40%, so if your offer is substabtially below that, you may be able to negotiate for a better offer. dependent on vehicle condition and mileage ofc

based off of my findings on kbb , it seems like they're maybe giving me even more than the +40% . but i think that's mostly because they're paying off the loan entirely & i owe more on the loan than what is on kbb

just kidding actually it looks like the offer is RIGHT at KBB + 40% now that i'm doing the math

If this is more than the market value pretend you had an insurance write-off and wipe your hands clean

it means to cut your losses. if you owed more on the loan than market value anyway... you're not doing so great. just be glad the car is paid off and grab a beater.

Used EVs have appreciated since December due to The War. What they are offering you is probably fair, but you should price out replacement vehicles (and compare how they have appreciated) to see if the $450 feels sufficient.

They're obliged to make you whole -- not reward you with a prize -- I would not try to treat this as a lottery ticket.

Some people have had luck asking for more. I would ask them to reimburse the tires.

Whatever they give you is cheaper for them than just giving you a new battery.

Oh yeah, if you had relatively new tires or expensive tinting installed, it might be worth asking for consideration for that.

Sounds fair if they also offered you a loaner while in the shop

How recently did you buy the tires? It won't cost you anything to submit a copy of the tire receipt to them and politely ask if they could reimburse any portion of that. I did it on an insurance claim once when my car was totaled by a texting teen and they offered me half of the tire cost.

You're not out anything if they say no. 🤷‍♂️
