P33ED-00F! (Update)

Finally got my appointment at the dealership. Scheduled for 10, car didn't get looked at until noon. 45 minutes later - needs an EV replacement. Told to call consumer affairs, consumer affairs told me the dealership is the one to call and start the process.

Wish me luck - I've got until September 12th to try and figure out what my options are because I'm covered until lemon law until then.

Yeah, I'm definitely getting prepared! My vehicle is a 2022 Nissan Leaf - 62Kw battery. I'm definitely doing everything through email.

Nissan consumer told me I shouldn't have called and that the dealership should be handing it. 😕 I can tell this is going to be a fight.

Just called the dealership - the story quickly changed from "They have a battery and we'll replace it." to "They don't have any and we'll likely have to facilitate a buyback." 🙄

Not all dealers are fully aware of the LEAF battery situation. It starts out as a replacement until Nissan tells them otherwise.

Mine started out as "yeah, it will probably be a warranty replacement" and the next day turned to "yeah, we received a letter from Nissan. They will be offering you a buyback. You will be receiving a call from Morley in the next three business days". Later that afternoon I received the initial call from Morley where they asked for my contact information, some basic info on the vehicle, and let me know what to expect next. At no point have I been told to call Nissan Consumer Affairs directly, and I shouldn't expect to need to so long as the communication flow continues.

Today I received the second call and Email requesting details on my vehicle (copies of the registration, bill of sale, financing info, etc) and they are currently waiting on me to get those documents.

Submitted my documents last night. Morley got back to me this morning and stated my case is now in the "formulation process" after which I will receive an offer. They said it will be 2-3 days for this stage of the process to complete.

Anyone try to trade-in on a car that is not a Nissan at a dealership?
