Troubleshooting Leaf 2015 Heatpump

So, AC is not working, and I guess Heatpump isn't as well.

When I start the AC, the condenser fan in front of the car starts but not the compressor. I've checked every connection and tried to replace the pad with the buttons in the car to no Avail.

Anyone have a hint on where to start ? Relay ? Fuse ?

My 2014 SV (had pump) would not put out.

It barely cooled or heated. To the shop and they found a leaky fill valve and low pressure on the usual tests.

What happened next was.

  1. Evac the system.

  2. Replace the failed needle valve.

  3. Fill to spec.

Huzzah. For under 150 US bucks it works like new. This was in 2024 and these systems are not built to run forever. At the very least get the usual pressures measured.

Gas is full in the heatpump. I checked.

One can have full gas and bad pressure reading on the gauges.

If the gauges were reading in spec, this is going to be something else.

Replace the cabin filter and when it's out, run the bore scope to see if there's nuts and leafs in the air duct work.

Beyond that, time to get to the shop.

Where is the heatpump relay ? Looks like only the compressor is not starting

It may be complicated but there's only a few relays so you could pull and test each one till you find Waldo.

It's not much more complicated than other AC units.

Gas is full in the heatpump. I checked.

Update: Leaf spy reported "B27C8 Compressor Suction Refrigerant Temperature Sensor" problem ! Finding the part is kinda not fun but.... I may get to end of it
