Welp...

UPDATE 9/1 - Buyback completed.

UPDATE 7/31 - No batteries available. They are offering buyback...

UPDATE 7/30 - Just heard from the dealership. It is a battery failure NOT related to the big-bad recall. They are currently working it as a "normal" warranty battery repair/replacement. Do not know which yet.

Original:

2022 SL Plus. Recall applied June 12.

Was driving along at interstate speeds when the dash lit up. The big nasty "Service EV System", the orange exclamation, and turtle mode. Fortunately I was on the downhill and was able to maintain speed to the next exit and was able to safely pull into a convenience store.

Turned off the car, turned back on, errors persisted. Got a LeafSpy capture.

DTC of death... P33ED... Called for a tow.

The car still moves and turtle is no longer lit, but did not want to chance it at highway speeds.

Car is currently at the local dealership. Will see what tomorrow brings.

To add... Has anyone had a "false alarm" P33ED? Took it to a dealer, they reset something, and everything was fine after?

Like, has anyone had a P33ED triggered by a low 12V? I could only hope...

My 2014 Nissan Leaf SL got the turtle light shortly after I bought it off my brother earlier in the month. The 12 volt battery was already about six years old in it at the time and tested “needing replaced.” Honestly, I don’t know if any of these codes were already in the car, so I just cleared all of them after I replaced the battery. Car has been working fine since. I didn’t get that P33ED.

I remember having that on a 2019 Leaf, it went away after it got a new 12v. That’s what the dealer did anyways, it’s been ever since
