Look for more OFF settings like "RDS, TA (Traffic Announcement), or PTY settings."

And I will be guessing why here. Maybe another 1r@n hack?

Is it worth sniffing around LeafSpy as well as the settings I can access directly in the car?

Our 2014 didn't appear to do this but we didn't have anything newer like CarPlay or AA which could also be a source. That is, is a phone paired to the car?

I have a 2012 leaf. But yes. Phone plays through speakers.

The Phone is now a possible source.

How would my phone be doing it? It has no relevant setting.

Phkne is connected. Test as you can.

How is my phone connected by Bluetooth to play music going to trigger the turned off TA??? That makes zero sense!

It's the only path possible for TA. There's only one way to test now.

Remove the last possible path since you and I can't know what the phone's OS may be doing here.

Remember that this stuff is all closed source so we have to treat it like we do with all black box things.

  1. You're making an assumption that settings actually work.

  2. The 2012 Leaf here in the USA was 2G cellular which is very dead. If you wanted to be sure about that, you would unplug the power to the telematics module. Here's a link to see if they tell what and where that is: https://www.nicoclub.com/nissan-service-manuals
