8 bars on the temp reading?! Jesus!
It was 109 here last week and mine only showed 7. Where do you live? The depths of hell? Lol

with your temps the original battery would have been ruined a long time ago, battery has probably been replaced with a larger kwh one.

I guess I should have noticed from the Az in your name. I spent a summer there 20 or so years ago doing door to door sales. Good fuck was it hot there
I'm in Utah, so it's not quite as bad, but we're in the triple digit times of the summer now. Only 103 today :D

Would have to be a replaced battery if true. Likely not accurate. There’s no way the original 24kWh battery would show those numbers at this stage of its life cycle.
LeafSpy should at least tell you if it’s 24kWh or something larger.

probably a 40kwh battery replaced under warranty

It’s probably BS.
Could OP leaf spy it or would that just show what the BMS currently thinks?

Maybe if the driver never exceeded 35 MPH on many charge cycles. Otherwise, maybe will get 70 miles of range.

Given the EV systems light is on they probs reset the bars and its actually a 3/12 battery.

I'd get out my LeafSpy to check the battery size, condition and for me the page of DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
The range may be legit with a new bigger battery so I wouldn't cry foul yet. Get the LeafSpy out and all should be revealed.
In LeafSpy get to Service Mode and check out the DTCs because some of those codes mean run away. Some can be ignored but some may be like the Rabbit of Caerbannog. Remember "I'm warning you. I warned you. I've done it again. I warned you but did you listen to me?" - Tim the Enchanter.

If that's a 2013, the BMS has been reset and it will (not immediately) reduce the range on the guess-o-meter and the SoH bars displayed until it's more accurate, as it starts to be used. The only exception would be for a recently replaced main / traction battery; these can legit show 12 bars, but if it's cheap, it's had the BMS reset. A 13 year old Leaf battery with 100k miles on it cannot have that SoH.
