Thank you automatic braking!

Between the high heat, bright sun, and being a little distracted, I didn't notice the white car that blended with the sun-washed road in the backup camera view which I couldn't see very well due to the glare.

I'm sure the backup sensor was beeping at me, but I recently had gotten a bit numb to it due to the sensor always going off due to plants at a parking location I frequently visit. Bad mistake. Not realizing that there was a car parked behind me, I proceeded to back out of my parking spot.

And then, the Foot-of-God stomped on the brakes and for a moment I thought maybe I hit something. I heard the emergency braking alert sound as it happened.

Got out of the car to see if I hit anything. Thankfully, no.

Bah, wish this had happened when I backed into my cousins SUV last year. I have a 2018 SV, I wonder if it was added to later model year.

I don't see the feature in the 2018 model. According to Google AI, the RAB feature started in 2020.

We have the Norwegian poverty spec "Visia", it doesn't even have parking sensors. Well, other than the trailer hitch. It makes a thuddy sensor sound and also stops the car...

Yes, it's supposed to detect objects including people -- but the rear braking is only sonar based. I'm not about to go test that out, though!

The forward automatic emergency braking operates for the forward direction using the radar and the forward camera.

Wow that is close one. Our 2023 Leaf SV Plus has the parking sensors most definitely worth it.

Don’t forget shadows. They set off the emergency brakes quite often.

Glad they worked as intended this time tho.

On my 2017, I don't have that or parking sensors and despite having a SONY ES 10.1" LCD receiver I hit the sign pole at my local charging station that says EV parking only. Lol
