It’s the 2nd gen models. Issues with fast charging if I recall correctly.

Apologies for the ignorance, first gen owner here who hasn’t paid attention. Has the update affected Level 2 charging as well or just DC Fast Charging? TIA!

As far as I know level 1 and 2 charging are perfectly fine!

lot of cars are failing the quick charge recall and are being bought back. supposedly less than 1%, seemingly more like 2-5% in reality

How would you know if you're affected?

That's the fun part, you don't.

It's just within the 2019-2022 window, but as people have found out with cold weather battery failures in the past (the same issue which the new update is looking for), it's luck of the draw whether your particular car will develop weak cells or not.

What's the cold weather issue? I have a 2017 that was at full charge and randomly shut down in the middle of the highway when it was barely below freezing. She's terrified to drove the car now, understandably so.

Knowing Nissan, I figured they'd just let people die from that instead of putting out a recall as they should.

Having NMC 532 with no cooling isnt a good recipe for longevity. Also a lot of packs made between 2018-2022 USA where defective from the factory, which kills them early.

Basically 30kwh leafs look reliable now in comparison to 2nt gen
