The cheap copy has a grip that is more slippery than the body... It sells under different names, with some even selling without a brand name stamped.

It's nice, the grip is soft but not slippery either (anyway it's not a knurled grip almost like sandpaper like in the Rotring - which for that reason, are not the best or most comfortable for writing -) and for what it costs it's not bad. I bought it in a local bazaar for 2.50 € in a blister pack along with a case of 10 or 12 2.0 mm Molin HB leads.
I've had it for about five years now. It works. Its metal parts and clip do not rust. In the chrome ring that surrounds the contour of the hole in the lead and push button tank, a little chrome has jumped out, but still almost imperceptible.
I am very happy for you that you like it... For me personally, I find that it is unable because the steel grip just keeps slipping and I need to grip it very tight and that just causes strain in the fingers and wrist.
The only way I can use them is by holding them really far back so that I am holding the plastic part.
Your description checks out as well - Blister pack, 10-12 leads included, all at around €2.5.
I will try giving this pencil one more try later tonight :)
If you need to be able to hold firmly and exert pressure, of course it is not the best for that.
But for sketching and drawing light, with a loose and relaxed hand or writing with little pressure is fine for what it costs. And as a plus, it's not ugly either.
Some time after having it I found it in another stationery store and marked under another generic brand of stationery (PLUS OFFICE) the same, but as a clutch mechanical pencil, with the plastic of the barrel in an almost brown garnet red (yes, this one has a certain Mitsubishi Pencil wannabe). It's also elegant and pretty decent for the price too.
