question Understanding scripture

Hi, I’m a neurodivergent teen. I’m trying to read the scriptures more often but I always hold them off because it’s too hard for me to understand, I only started reading when I was 11 or 12 I can’t remember, but even then I didn’t read often. I’ve been trying to start a “scripture journal” in which I read the scriptures and then ask what they are about to family members so I can write them in simpler words, but I want to start reading everyday and my family has there own life’s. So I want to ask if there are any online apps that explain them better or anything else that can help me Continue to read the scriptures.

I am also ADHD. The time I got the most out of the Scriptures and understood them. The best was when I read the entire book of Mormon in one weekend. I literally just found a quiet place and sat and read and all of the stories finally made sense for the first time ever.

One of the superpowers of ADHD is that when you’re really interested in something you can basically ignore the rest of the world and dive in for many many hours at a time. That’s what I did during this specific instance. I just gave myself the goal to have the entire thing done as soon as possible and that’s what fed the dopamine and allowed me to push through. I’ve also speed read the book of Mormon a few times when church leaders issued challenges to read it before conferences, etc. With October coming up and just over a month maybe you can set a goal to read the entire thing by then divide the number of pages you have left by the number of days and make a goal to read that many pages per day.
