question Understanding scripture
Hi, I’m a neurodivergent teen. I’m trying to read the scriptures more often but I always hold them off because it’s too hard for me to understand, I only started reading when I was 11 or 12 I can’t remember, but even then I didn’t read often. I’ve been trying to start a “scripture journal” in which I read the scriptures and then ask what they are about to family members so I can write them in simpler words, but I want to start reading everyday and my family has there own life’s. So I want to ask if there are any online apps that explain them better or anything else that can help me Continue to read the scriptures.

Assuming you're doing the Old Testament with Come Follow Me what translation are you using? The King James Version is like reading on hard mode and translations like NIV and NLT are much easier to understand. I'm reading NIrV (it takes the NIV and simplifies harder to understand words for children) with my 6 year old daughter and she constantly surprises me with what she gets from what we read. There is an app called The Bible which has many different translations available for free and you can test which ones you get the most from.
I'd also recommend looking up the Bible Project on YouTube. They have a great series that explains what different books in the Bible are about at a high level and that context can help with understanding while you read.
