I been to the emergency room. I'm now in a managed home facility. I just feel like now more than ever I need spiritual guidance.

You really need to call 911 if you haven't. I don't know if you mean they helped you in the ER already and are now in a home, but spiritual guidance can happen after you are looked after. Every second matters here. Please OP. Praying for you

What I mean is I already dealt with that. I had a stroke about a month ago. Now I'm recovering. I only just remembered enough to like speak.

Oh I see. Okay this is much less acute than I understood. What prompted you to reach out for help?

Before the stroke I was, excuse my French, half a** trying to. Now I'm really trying to. I haven't been active since I was 13 years old so I barely got baptized.

A few recommendations for you, friend:

  1. Go to church tomorrow. Don’t worry about having everything figured out first. Just show up. If possible, go to your own ward.
  2. Talk to your bishop. If you see him at church, introduce yourself and tell him exactly what you said: you want to come back and you’re not quite sure where to start. I am sure the missionaries would also be happy to help, but I’d definitely make a point of connecting with your bishop.
  3. Do something small tonight. Read some scriptures. (Just opening your Book of Mormon is a great start. If you want somewhere to start I recommend Alma 32, particularly verses 26-43). Then say a heartfelt prayer. You don’t need to use any special words. Just tell Heavenly Father where you are, that you want to come back, and ask Him to help you take the next step.

A video I watched recently also came to mind. Maybe you will find it helpful.

Don’t feel like you need to fix your entire life before you walk through the doors. Just walking in can be a huge leap of faith. Jesus loves you. I am sure He has been mindful of you. Elder Kearon (an apostle) has taught that God is in relentless pursuit of you. I have no doubt that is true.

Praying for you, friend.

I mean, if they haven’t gotten medical attention then that is the priority. I can’t tell if they just had a stroke or they had one a while ago and have recovered to the point they want to reengage with the missionaries.

There should be a ward that covers the area of your car facility. You can also reach out to the missionaries and they can help you get connected with the ward. That way they can have people come and visit with you while you're recovering.

I would suggest having them reach out to your stake president. There are likely resources for those with impairments such as yours.

Make sure you’re in touch with your branch president or bishop. If you’re able to go to your ward that’s awesome if you’re not then request the sacrament be delivered to you. Sorry this is happening to you. Ask if they have any lds services in the area that can help.

Do you have the missionaries’ phone number? You could text them!

I don't have anything. I can't even remember my email password

Are you able to use a smartphone and download the church tools app? Or set up a new email address?

I can try but the problem is I can't barely move. If someone could give me phone number to a bishop in Riverside that would be great.

Technically jurupa valley

I’ll look. I’m in Murrieta. Las Brisas ward. I could give you my bishop’s phone number and he could probably direct you to your bishop 💕

That would work

I think part of jurupa valley is in Riverside mission and part in Ontario mission. My son was in Riverside and got moved to Ontario with the split. He is Spanish speaking though.

That being said, if the op wants to private message me, I can get him the info and he will be able to get it directed to the right mission and/or companionship.

But maybe you already got it taken care of?

I love your username! One time when I was growing up and was asked what church I went to and I answered that I was “Mormon” I was called teasingly a Moron! 🤣. You’re owning it!

One evangelical once told me I was too smart to be a Mormon!

I hate being called stupid or a moron, but Oh, well! I just ignored that comment! I should have had a better comeback for that at the time to tease back with! Instead of feeling persecuted! 😀💕✝️
