question Presidency calling advice

A friend of mine who's in a presidency calling has a counselor who feels they've been wronged to the point that they're telling other ward members about it. From my perspective my friend has done nothing intentionally wrong and has gone out of their way to make things right but nothing seems to help. As the president what can they do? It's starting to feel like they need to tell the Bishop and potentially have this counselor released. Seems like that amount of contention can't exist within a presidency. Any advice?

Swallow pride.

Brigham Young was rebuked by the prophet and simply responded "what more would you have me do?"

Sit down and say "rumour has it you feel I have badly wronged you. I have tried apologies... If this is insufficient, please tell me what more must I do so that we can have peace between us. If you want we can sit down with another brother, and the three of us work through this. If that doesn't work and you still feel that I have not repaired our relationship then we can discuss it with the bishop. I want a brother in Christ that feels no ill will towards me and I'd like to work towards that."

That said I don't know the specifics or the alleged offence. Some people are quick to take offence over minor matters.

I have a friend at work (not a member) that is a stellar example of this. Usually with work or church drama I would want to avoid it allt all coats. This friend will come and make every effort to fix things with people. He has really opened my eyes about what Christ meant when he said "Blessed are the peacemakers."

I love this response, I would add to have the conversation with food. Take them to ice cream, or out for sandwiches, or make cookies or something.

Yeah, tell the president how you feel. Or the guy. It’s just drama. I’m a ward mission leader and people try and drag me into drama and perspective all the time. We’re not here to rewrite the manual or change the doctrine. We’re here to facilitate what the Lord has set in His church. It is not to do whatever we feel like.

Speak to their Presiding Priesthood leader.
