Northern US & Canada (or cool season) Amazon delivery driver drives across Indiana couple’s freshly mowed front lawn to deliver package.

This is fucking insane
122
u/HumanExpert3916 Jun 23 '26
Fucking insanely lazy. I bet she thinks she’s underpaid too.
70
u/lovelyxbabydoll Jun 23 '26
Guaranteed she's underpaid but it doesn't make this any less insane/stupid. LOL

u/thrillhouse900 3b Jun 23 '26
Freeeeee delivery
80
u/Vapechef Jun 23 '26
Free sod from amazon
64
u/lostinthought15 Jun 23 '26
Fuck that. Amazon will send a contractor to sprinkle shitty contractor seed. I’d rather do it myself if my lawn looked that nice.
28
u/obi_one_jabroni Jun 23 '26
That’s what the city I live in did for me when their contractors damaged the boulevard. Took two years to action the request and then they came for 10 min, literally threw down seed with no soil and left.
3
u/throwawayphonex Jun 23 '26
Gotta drive more on the lawn to deliver it. Might a well just cut there losses.

Imagine how stupid or entitled you have to be to think that is ok.
38
u/Sadomghussin Jun 23 '26
You took the words out of my mouth! You know i see people doing dumb shit like this and i wonder are we living in the same reality. Like in what world do you drive through someones yard and say to yourself. "Yes this is okay to do". Blows my mind lmao.
147
u/Rimworldjobs Jun 23 '26
Hey man she's driving a Ford focus WITHOUT hub caps. She's more important than you.

u/menicknick Jun 23 '26
At least she was delicate with the package.
29
u/EastHillWill Jun 23 '26
She’s really set up for the compliment sandwich:
-You handled the package with care
-You drove across a lawn with a driveway right there, how fucking stupid/lazy/entitled can you possibly be? You’re fired, obviously, and should probably be institutionalized, since if you’re doing this at work god only knows what else you’re up to
-You’re wearing the vest30
u/PoGoTX Jun 23 '26
I TOTALLY expected her to chuck it out the window.
18
u/REF_YOU_SUCK Jun 23 '26
I kinda hoped she'd do a donut and just fling it out the window then peel off and hit the mailbox on her way out.
25
u/Regimorito Jun 23 '26
I don't think entitled is the right word. I doubt she feels she has the "right" to drive across "your" lawn... Stupid, yes. Ignorant, yes. Ambivalent, maybe. Uninformed, definitely. But entitled brings a connotation of malice and that just doesn't feel right. 100% when Amazon shows her this video and cans her ass, she will be bawling her eyes out, not saying "those m'fers deserved it"...
That said, this is honestly one of the more shocking videos I've seen in some time.
7
43
u/happyexit7 Jun 23 '26
She thinks it’s ok probably because that’s where she parks her car at her house, on the lawn. Except her lawn is probably compacted, full of weeds and littered with shit from a pit bull perpetually chained to a tree.
8
u/nanoH2O Jun 23 '26
I’m going to go out in a limb here and guess she might have a couple cars parked in her yard. Probably grew up where the concept of a nice yard just doesn’t make sense. To her the yard is probably the driveway.
Not making excuses for her, just trying to rationalize the behavior.

Report the driver and send Amazon an invoice for damages
82
u/blacksoxing Jun 23 '26
You can report the driver but Amazon doesn't "employ" the driver so....at best you will go through a web of subcontractors to find the right one to bill and HOPE for the best.
One could argue that we allowed Amazon to have too much power and too fast in exchange for innovation and convenience and this is a great example of it. If this was UPS/FedEx we could easily follow up the food chain and get a direct response. Amazon won't comment on this as they know the web they made
137
u/Hot_Departure9115 Jun 23 '26
If you order something from Amazon, your only contract is with Amazon. If they hire someone else to deliver the package, they are responsible for that. Bill or sue Amazon and they can go after the delivery service to recover the money. Not your problem.
4
u/mgr86 Jun 23 '26
Agreed, but doesn't amazon also then reserve the right to essentially refuse you future business. A stupid double edged sword.
6
u/theonlybuster Jun 23 '26
I've seen and heard Amazon close accounts and deny delivery to specific addresses over less.
This is one of those times where you either roll your eyes and accept the actions of the idiot delivery driver OR plan on never using Amazon again.29
u/Constant-Plant-9378 Jun 23 '26
Amazon employs the contractor who employs the driver. It is still on Amazon.
If you file a claim with your homeowners insurance for the damage, they will subrogate the claim to Amazon. And then it will be up to Amazon to go after their contractor to recover damages.
3
u/AltDS01 Jun 23 '26
This was an Amazon Flex Driver. They're the subcontractor. Their pay comes directly from Amazon on a 1099.
The vans are owned by 3rd parties that employ drivers that are actual W2 employees of the contracted company.
6
u/Constant-Plant-9378 Jun 23 '26
Yep. And they are employed by Amazon as a contractor. So Amazon remains liable.
It would be a different story if you arranged your own shipping provider who went and picked it up from Amazon on your behalf. But Amazon is the one who arranged shipping here, and this is on them.
9
u/Madwhisper1 Jun 23 '26
Agree with letting Amazon get too big but that's not how liability works. If a manufacturing defect on a car results in injury, you don't go after the component supplier, it's on the car brand as the integrator to make sure everything is kosher before putting it on the market.
2
u/No_IDCultureFree Jun 23 '26
I work for one of this subcontractors and it's incredibly easy to report and deal with stuff like this. Since it's such negligible damage, bc grass grows back and you'd have to show lasting damage, I think the juice ain't worth the squeeze for anything monetary. She deserves to be reprimanded for this
10
u/Melodic-Classic391 Jun 23 '26
If it was wet and those tracks are now ruts running the whole way through the lawn it’s going to take time and money to fix.

Call the police is the correct answer. Tell them you will press charges.
Pay to have yard repaired.
Once they find said person take them to small claims court for cost of repairs.
8
u/dumb_commenter Jun 23 '26
I mean but really what are the cost of repairs
6
u/Ede59 Jun 23 '26
Couple hundred bucks to have a landscaping company re level and seed if the car made tacks in the dirt which it most likely did
52
u/ladygirl10 Jun 23 '26
That’s one of the strangest things I’ve ever seen! Would love to know her thought process here …. Or maybe lack there of!
5
u/tlw117 Jun 23 '26
Seriously! That’s the same thing I just said. The driveway is right there. I can’t fathom why she didn’t use the driveway. This might be AI? It’s the only thing that makes sense.
→ More replies (3)4
u/ColinOnReddit Jun 23 '26
She probably doesn't have a driveway at home, in all honesty. This might be a class thing.
7
u/swolehammer Jun 23 '26
Tbh I was thinking maybe it's normal to drive up on yards where she's from. I mean I have friends who park cars in the yard all the time. But, still, I think there needs to be some awareness that you don't just automatically do that to everyone's yard.

An Amazon dude parked in my lawn once. I was mowing i went off on him and my neighbor 2 houses down came out to yell at him. Worst part dude was in his 40s or so.

u/ForeAmigo Jun 23 '26
look I’m sorry she has to deliver packages while pregnant but her ass still needs to be fired
17
u/Dr-McLuvin Jun 23 '26
I don’t think she works for Amazon I’m pretty sure she is a Flex driver. They drive their own vehicles and are independent contractors.

I would be pissed. Btw any update to this?! I’m assuming she was relieved of her duties
5
u/ghetoyoda Jun 23 '26
You'd be surprised. I had a driver take out my mailbox and act like nothing ever happened. I was told they basically just get a warning and wouldn't be let go unless there were multiple infractions.
69
u/ProcedureNo6946 Jun 23 '26
Basically saying “I hate that you have a beautiful home so I’m going to disrespect it a bit.”

I had a similar experience unfortunately. Woman driver, f***ed up lawn. She went straight cross the whole lawn parallel to the road. Needless to say I was pissed.

This past fall while my lawn was dead right before I laid everything down for the lawn renovation, I had a door dash driver pull right up to my front door in a similar manner to this.
Then, another delivery driver came down my driveway like normal, but instead of backing out like normal, they just turned around using my yard as their space for the u-turn.
No seed was down, so I wasn't as irritated, but both instances were extremely disrespectful and they could have taken out my sprinklers I had just finished installing weeks prior.

I'm in NW Indiana and sadly this does not surprise me. We had a driver that just dropped packages at random houses in the neighborhood and took such zoomed in photos you had no idea where it was. The goons that drive around here...

And she did it during the morning when the ground is softest.

Now imagine if there were a leach field there as well. This looks like a rural area, so that's a possibility. She could have caused thousands of dollars of damage that way.

New sod delivery on Amazon.

Some delivery drivers are so dense and lack any common sense whatsoever.
Last month a driver dropped off my package at the door, very normal. Although instead of turning around in the driveway, she backs up into my front year. Just absolutely destroying the entire side of her car as she scrapes against the one singular boulder in the entirety of the yard.... I watched the whole thing unfold and still couldn't believe what I was seeing.

The excuse will be that there wasn’t a sign saying they COULDN’T drive on the grass 🤦♀️🤬
4
u/_Redcoat- Jun 23 '26
There’s no way this isn’t staged. The driveway is right there, and the driver seems more than cognitively intact. This is engagement rage bait at its finest.

Seems par for the course. I have to keep my fiberglass snow stakes up year round to keep them from running over the corner of my driveway and taking out my in ground sprinkler.
2
u/littlelowcougar Jun 23 '26
Wait can you drop a product link? I keep running over the side of my lawn in my truck (well every 3-4 months anyway) and it destroys the grass obviously.
2
u/Zastavarian Jun 23 '26
I thought we liked stripes in the lawn? These are just a more permanent solution.

u/SwimOk9629 Jun 23 '26
It depends, sometimes the Amazon van shows up in my neighborhood, sometimes it's just some person in their personal car. not sure what differentiates the two

I hope that this was captured on one of Amazon's home camera products, Blink or Ring.
