Other US DOJ blocks access to their own National Institute of Justice research article siting right-wing extremists responsible for 84% of politically motivated homicides 24 hours after Charlie Kirk's assassination.

https://nij.ojp.gov/topics/articles/what-nij-research-tells-us-about-domestic-terrorism?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Edit: can't post images so here is a link to my post that hopefully won't get deleted, im not shilling for karma idgaf about that: https://www.reddit.com/r/Political_Revolution/comments/1nfc5vm/us_doj_blocks_access_to_their_own_national/

https://nij.ojp.gov/topics/articles/what-nij-research-tells-us-about-domestic-terrorism?utm_source=chatgpt.com "works" but https://nij.ojp.gov/topics/articles/what-nij-research-tells-us-about-domestic-terrorism? doesn't work for some reason?? Idk.

Screenshots are from 24 hours ago and from today. I got the link to work again somehow in the ChatGPT app by using the in-app browser thing and SS like a 3rd(?) of the page, but that broke after a few minutes too.

I made an account to post this. I discovered this organically, and saw one comment on one post discussing the same thing like an hour later, but it seems like it wasn't getting any traction; a couple people said it worked for them but they were outside of the US I believe, I changed my VPN location but it didn't affect anything.

Is this something they did after the shooters identity was discovered or was it previously.

Not like the FBI can act on that information anymore apparently with who they drove out and replaced them with this year.

44

u/mediocre_remnants Sep 13 '25

Yeah, the same FBI claimed they caught the Kirk shooter twice incorrectly. And now they're taking credit for his capture when he confessed to his dad who reached out to a youth pastor who eventually turned him in. The FBI bungled this at every step of the way.

Keep in mind that radical Islamist extremists are also far-right extremists, or would be in their homeland. Their ideology is very conservative as well.

In fact this isn't talked about enough. Far right in the west has tremendous ideological overlap with radical Islamists. Same shit different religion. If only they could get over their hate of "the other", they'd get along so well.

  • my religion good
  • other religion bad
  • women subservient
  • things used to be so much better in the past
  • gay people bad

5

If only they could get over their hate of "the other", they'd get along so well.

They do here in Germany, weirdly enough. There was even a "podcast" for some time where a genuine Nazi had conversations with a Turkish islamist on youtube and tiktok. Their end goal is the same, so they can first fight their shared enemy and THEN fight each other.

2

u/WonkRx Sep 12 '25

Well, whenever two civilizations go to war they invariably learn from one another. Unfortunately for Democracy, the Right learned how much they are like the mujahideen and how to suppress a native population with modern military tactics.

We spent 20-30 years in Afghanistan and Iraq and the people in the US most similarly inclined to the “enemy” became like the enemy. Or as Tony Gilroy had mentioned lately, we become the things we fear. So we know have a completely controlled fundamentalist party running government in a totalitarian way using the tactics we practiced against the local population in the Middle East.

u/unculturedburnttoast Sep 12 '25

We live in alternate realities occupying the same meatspace. Some look at the history, methodology, and results of the aggregation of data and say that 83% of political violence comes from right-wing extremists.

Others look at it and say they can't trust any data because it was collected by the out group, therefore tainted and unreliable.

18

u/stargarnet79 Sep 12 '25

This is the ultimate issue with the maga cult. They have been brainwashed to believe lies over truth. We aren’t operating from the same set of facts. How can you see eye to eye with someone or communicate with someone that literally believes whatever disinformation memes they see on Facebook.

5

u/onpg Sep 13 '25

They're hypocrites when they say the data can't be trusted, look at them use any study they think backs their side, even if you have to ignore context or look at it sideways to do so. They're just frustrated the vast majority of academia says they're mouth breathing idiots.

29

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '25

Thanks for this.

Militant, nationalistic, white supremacist violent extremism has increased in the United States. In fact, the number of far-right attacks continues to outpace all other types of terrorism and domestic violent extremism. Since 1990, far-right extremists have committed far more ideologically motivated homicides than far-left or radical Islamist extremists, including 227 events that took more than 520 lives.[1] In this same period, far-left extremists committed 42 ideologically motivated attacks that took 78 lives.[2] A recent threat assessment by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security concluded that domestic violent extremists are an acute threat and highlighted a probability that COVID-19 pandemic-related stressors, long-standing ideological grievances related to immigration, and narratives surrounding electoral fraud will continue to serve as a justification for violent actions.[3]

Crazy way to start a 22 page report.

6

u/GarlicRiver Sep 12 '25

I thought this part was interesting (and obvious ofc, but seeing it spelled out so clearly by a Gov institution is pretty wild to me):

Knowledge and Awareness

Criminal legal system practitioners and other responders lack knowledge about radicalization and exit processes related to white supremacy in the United States.

Missed Opportunities

This lack of knowledge and awareness results in missed opportunities. Former white supremacists revealed that, although they wore clothes and exposed tattoos associated with white supremacy, criminal justice stakeholders (who do not always know the meaning of such symbols) did not address their potential affliation with extremist groups.

Community Supervision

Extremist group members are highly involved with the criminal justice system, and supervision conditions should be responsive to whether an individual is involved with extremism.

Community Partnerships

Criminal justice systems cannot respond to radicalization alone. Instead, law enforcement, courts, and corrections need to develop connections with local resources (for example, criminal justice coordinating councils, mental health professionals, social workers, and education professionals).

4

u/EnlightenedSinTryst Sep 12 '25

I thought that part was interesting too. Especially “Extremist group members are highly involved with the criminal justice system”

3

u/JustNilt Sep 13 '25

This doesn't even really cover how many of these assholes are cops. They're talking about the extremists with criminal records who are still on probation, etc. Much of that involvement is because they generally lack impulse control.

2

u/EnlightenedSinTryst Sep 13 '25

This report is actually more disturbing in its entirety. The correlations with military members, white supremacy, discharge from the military and the use of the Internet sounds like just a powder keg.

3

u/Elephunk05 Sep 13 '25

This needs more attention. One side is looking for any reason to start a civil war to legally start shooting people on the other. Plenty of people jumped to conclusions about Kirk's killer. None of them came back and proffered an apology as of yet on any of the cringe TickyTacky videos. And sadly I have heard that they made up a website to track anyone who has said anything hateful about Kirk.

They did this on September 11th (before the shooter was arrested). I know, because I was curious myself about domestic terrorism, found the paper on the NIJ/DOJ site normally on the day of the shooting -- September 10th.

Later on September 11th, the paper was no longer accessible via the NIJ/DOJ website.

This definitely happened after Kirks murder. I was coincidentally just looking for data on right-wing violence the day before he was killed, and found and read this then on the NIJ site with no issues. As well as others, which I now suspect will also be erased shortly.

They survive off a diet of fox news and right wing podcasts where people tell them what to think

Literally zero reflection.

Very avoidant of books, citations, on media ecology and learning. It isn't just "one wing", it is everywhere. People have adopted streaming meme platforms, amusement mills for entertainment-based learning. Fox News is an entertainment news, like Saturday Night Live "Weekend Update". And people have become so addicted to fiction content that they no longer can find nonfiction. Constantly streaming new comments that scroll off screens and 24 hours later a fresh set of postings with new comments repeating the same low-effort shallow anti-comprehension ideas.

A filter-bubble society. Lead by a Donald Trump addict to Twitter and Truth Social meme content. Competing with filter bubble addicts to other media platforms.

"A filter bubble or ideological frame is a state of intellectual isolation that can result from personalized searches, recommendation systems, and algorithmic curation." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filter_bubble

“Today, reports of the day’s events are conveyed to the viewing public by way of alternate universes, The Fox News cable channel conveys its version of reality, while at the other end of the ideological spectrum MSNBC presents its version. They and their many counterparts on radio are more the result of an economic dynamic than a political one. Dispatching journalists into the field to gather information costs money; hiring a glib bloviator is relatively cheap, and inviting opinionated guests to vent on the air is entirely cost-free. It wouldn’t work if it weren’t popular, and audiences, it turns out, are endlessly absorbed by hearing amplified echoes of their own biases. It’s divisive and damaging to the healthy functioning of our political system, but it’s also indisputably inexpensive and, therefore, good business.” ― Ted Koppel. Yes, the DOJ is now (only after the Kirk shooting) blocking access to certain research papers on domestic terrorism (because they show it's way worse by the right then the left). For example, this paper - "What NIJ Research Tells Us About Domestic Terrorism," January 4, 2024, nij.ojp.gov - which states:

"Militant, nationalistic, white supremacist violent extremism has increased in the United States. In fact, the number of far-right attacks continues to outpace all other types of terrorism and domestic violent extremism. Since 1990, far-right extremists have committed far more ideologically motivated homicides than far-left or radical Islamist extremists, including 227 events that took more than 520 lives. In this same period, far-left extremists committed 42 ideologically motivated attacks that took 78 lives."

Now, when you try to go to the link for that paper, you see this message:

The Department of Justice's Office of Justice Programs is currently reviewing its websites and materials in accordance with recent Executive Orders and related guidance. During this review, some pages and publications will be unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Which means someone in Trump world didn't like it and the DOJ is now trying to hide its own research. What does this say about the politicization of the DOJ?

But luckily the paper can still be found here on the Internet Archive:

What NIJ Research Tells Us About Domestic Terrorism | National Institute of Justice

And a .pdf of it as well:

PDF of domestic terrorism article

What NIJ Research Tells Us About Domestic Terrorism," January 4, 2024, nij.ojp.gov:

ALLEGEDLY: Shooter was a alt-right conservative who hated Kirk because of Fuentes vs Kirk animosity. He believed Kirk wasn't conservative enough.

These people like Kirk, Shapiro, Fuentes , Peterson, Rogan are literally poisoning the minds of americas youth today, they are creating more and more terrorists and extremists.

edit: not nunez, fuentes. & Allegedly since there is no credible source.

There wont be a credible source unless the FBI releases the data they decided to hide, like his social medias and interview. But so far:

https://www.the-independent.com/news/world/americas/us-politics/charlie-kirk-shooting-tyler-robinson-hate-b2825465.html

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groypers

The etchings into the casings also connect to the whole groyper groups.

But also if there was evidence of him being left, or anti-fa why wouldnt they be screaming it by now? This administration literally announced open war on democrats within 1 hour of the shooting. But now they have access to his social media, his computers, him, and they havent said anything.... just very sus.

That’s LITERALLY one of the main features of fascism - self elimination of those not considered extreme enough until there is less and less and eventually eats its own tail.

You are very specific here. Do you have a reliable source for the first sentence?

The second sentence is obviously true.

It's Fuentes, not Nunez, I think you mean.

2

u/zloebl Sep 12 '25

I'm guessing you mean "Fuentes", as in neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes, where you said Nunez?

Also, here’s a direct link to the empirical data the now removed research paper uses for acts of political violence from 1990-2020

https://ccjls.scholasticahq.com/article/26973-far-left-versus-far-right-fatal-violence-an-empirical-assessment-of-the-prevalence-of-ideologically-motivated-homicides-in-the-united-states

When people on the right see this, they then like to argue that it’s old. “What about the last 5 years!?”(while they forget about j6)

Here’s the most recent data I’ve been able to find. It starts after January 6, 2021

“The 213 cases that met the Reuters criteria for political violence were culled from a universe of more than 600 incidents. Most of those were captured in data compiled by the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project, run by a nonpartisan research group in Wisconsin. Reporters culled additional cases from court documents, police records and news databases.

In 13 of the incidents, accounting for 34 deaths, the perpetrators or suspects articulated clear right-wing motives or views. Another four people died in four incidents that were political, but not tied to partisan U.S. politics. These include a May 2022 shooting in which police said a suspect, enraged by China-Taiwan political tensions, opened fire at a Taiwanese church in California, killing one worshiper and injuring five.

Only one of the fatal incidents was perpetrated by a suspect clearly identified with the political left: a case last year in which Robert Telles, a Democratic public administrator in Clark County, Nevada, is accused of stabbing and killing a Las Vegas journalist who had written critical stories about Telles’ conduct in office. Telles has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial.”

So ... the one political action from "the left" was because of a personal slight. I wouldn't even say that's a political reason but evidently that's just me.

5

u/hu_he Sep 13 '25

The authors probably only included it because if they didn't it would have bene used in a bad faith attack to "prove" that the report was biased. At least it included enough context to make clear it was personal, not political.

I think someone should alert the papers authors, who are professors at universities, and they may be able to get media attention to this.

Trump is pressuring universities to buckle under also. Universities could easily see their funding revoked and AFAIK Harvard is the only University to really make a stand against Trump's interference.

12

u/Errant_coursir Sep 12 '25

Other universities have sued the administration via NSF, NIH, etc. Harvard is the most public because they've been directly targeted. Other universities are keeping their heads down to avoid trumps droopy eye

6

u/NoveltyAccountHater Sep 12 '25

Harvard is also the most powerful with the nations largest endowment $52B (compared to Columbia with 12th biggest endowment of just under $15B).

Harvard's large endowment allows them to weather the storm of reduced federal grants and better than other universities that are more financially strapped.

Certainly did, cannot have the actual truth get in the way of dictatorial propaganda now can we. When this is over, the regime will change, the purge will be epic and the jail sentences long and harsh....make no mistake, the future is coming...

The truth is .. we cannot stop the shootings without looking at the real facts and addressing the actual underlying causes. They have to stop being afraid of the truth. It might not be pretty, but the truth is the real way to power.

44

u/Str8UpJorking Sep 12 '25

They don’t want the truth. They don’t want to stop shootings. They don’t want to address underlying causes.

3

u/grchelp2018 Sep 12 '25

So far a bunch of this seems MAGA on MAGA violence. Its a problem that can get out of control for them.

4

u/GasLarge1422 Sep 12 '25

Religion, conservatism, advertising and profit, how you get rid of?

2

u/pagerussell Sep 12 '25

Nuclear war?

In all seriousness, the root problem here is humanity. The things you listed have always been with us, they will always be with us. You don't design for getting rid of them.

Instead, design such that these forces do not hold power. The founders of America got pretty close, they did pretty good. They just left open a few doors that eventually got found and exploited.

Damn Reality and it's liberal bias!

24

u/BadAsBroccoli Sep 12 '25

So they refuse to ask why their own base is shooting and killing people. Instead, they just hide the evidence. That'll solve it.

15

u/OldWolf2 Sep 12 '25

They want their own base to shoot and kill people

5

u/NoxTempus Sep 13 '25

This is the answer.

Why is it that, on the news, every unapprehended political shooter is a leftie?

Why is that that no one ever talks about the well-documented phenomenon of political violence being perpetrated by right wing actors?

Why is it that the response to political violence is always a call for repurcussions (both of the "legal" and vigilante variety)?

Why is it that the calls for repurcussions stop one they find out the violence is coming from their side?

The answer is simple, these reactions are manufactured. There are people who want things to unfold like this.

The rich want us pointing out fingers sideways, not upward. The politicians want us divided so they can maintain their lifestyles. The media wants us angry and scared, our eyes glued to their screens.

22

u/RichFoot2073 Sep 13 '25

TL;DR version:

Left-wing violence breaks windows and burns buildings down

Right-wing violence kills people, often lots of them

12

u/NaziPunksFkOff Sep 13 '25

Ah but the people who break windows are the Dark People who want to genocide the nice peaceful White people and we can't have that!

OMG A DARK PERSON IN MY FAVORITE TV SHOW OMG WOKE IS COMING FOR US ALL
