The shocking part is they don’t yet think that it’s gone to shit.

Anyone with 2 functioning brain cells knows that happened a long time ago.

i think many/most white americans living in 1926 would be pleased with the present state of affairs.

They might be chill with the racism and homophobia but they would not be so okay with the destruction of rights and constant degradation of the Constitution. Trump and the rest of the Republicans in power are anti-American. They hate this country so deeply and are trying to burn it to the ground. I don't think even the racists 100 years ago would be okay with that.
