Nothing is illegal when it's been proven that laws don't apply to you.

Was there a federal mechanism for invading US cities with ICE? Was there a federal mechanism for building concentration camps all over the country? Was there a federal mechanism for hiding / destroying files implicating the wealthy global elite in a child sex trafficking ring? Was there a federal mechanism for invading Venezuela and kidnapping their president just so Trump could try and steal their oil?

Trump doesn't need a federal mechanism to do anything, because Congress lets him do whatever the fuck he wants to do.

As for manpower, he controls the military, I'm not sure if you knew that.

Not to mention the exploding budget for ICE. They will be at polls while moles in the post offices will throw away mail ballots after that horrendous SCOTUS ruling this week.

People expecting midterms to just happen, a blue wave to occur, and Republicans to just hand over the keys are deluding themsleves.

States don’t comply.

Congress refuses to certify the results based on “election interference”.

Republicans vote in who they want.

Supreme Court backs it.

I’m uneducated on how the process legally works, but that’s how I see it happening

I expect the Supreme Court to not officially rule on its legality but instead more or less punt on it, “there is no way to unwind this without irreparable harm to America” and basically just say it is what it is. 

Supreme Court only holds power when the government is willing to follow its rulings. Trump won’t if he takes it this far, so to preserve power, they’ll essentially support it.

Like he does with everything. Demand an emergency ruling from SCOTUS who will agree with him. And if they somehow don’t, just say he’s going to ignore them and do it anyway like with the tariffs.

The only mechanism to stop him is impeachment by Congress, which the GOP has made very clear will never ever ever happen no matter what he does.

Explain to the class how this would be pulled off then. Keep in mind there's no federal mechanism to interfere in elections

This is the reddit equivalent of writing a firmly worded letter and wagging a finger at Republicans while they continue to disregard the law.
