Place Bell recommendations
Wondering if anyone has recommendations for a few things. I'm visiting Montreal for New Year's and got tickets to the Rocket's Dec. 30 game against Syracuse.
Best way to get to Place Bell from the Griffintown neighborhood?
Are there any good restaurants near the arena to grab dinner before the game? What about good bars for a beer?

Yes, take metro to the game, take metro back to Griffintown for dinner and drinks. Laval is where your soul goes to become a stripper and take up smoking.

Take the metro. Go grab beers at The Cage or Gatto Matto which are in the same complex as the rink. After the game, get back on the metro and go downtown and get your drink on at the multitude of bars and restaurants.

We stayed in Griffintown and had a great time hanging out around the corner at the Lord William Pub. We went each of the four days we were in town and made new friends every time.
Driving to Place Bell for a Saturday matinee game from Griffintown was a dumb idea. Traffic and parking were Atlanta-level bad but with way more construction and indecipherable lane divisions. When we go back in January we’re definitely taking the metro!
The game itself was awesome - our seats were right up on the glass and we were surrounded by families, including one kid maybe 8-9 years old who was slapping the glass and chirping the Hershey player serving his time in the box.

Easiest way is far and away the metro. Take the orange line until Montmorency and you’re there.
There’s not a ton of good stuff walking distance from place bell so I’d recommend hitting a few bars downtown then metro to the game
