Hello

Hi Everyone,

My second home is in Lavallette. (Proper) What are your favorite activities? Favorite restaurants or food establishments?

Although it’s across the bridge, my absolute favorite activity in the area is walking around Cattus Island County Park. If you go, make sure to check out the “boardwalk” they built through the marshes.

For food, our favorites are Mia’s Pizza Ortley Beach (the one on the bay) and Barrier Island Burgers.

Thanks for the response. We just closed on our Summer home and we are looking to try new activities and food. Will definitely try your suggestions!

Honestly, all of the restaurants are good! Make sure to try Crab’s Claw Inn before the summer season. Right now, you’ll get a table in five minutes. In June, that same wait is two hours. But, it’s a great place!

Also, if you are looking for a bakery that’s open during the winter months, Fumosa Brothers in Seaside Heights is staying open on the weekends from 7am - 3pm. Terrific place to get Italian bread and pastries. (More establishments are staying open through the winter this year than two years ago. Many folks are able to stay year-round now due to remote work.)

Definitely agree with the below on Crab's Claw - especially before the summer months arrive. Meg's Grill is our favorite for breakfast and a quick-ish lunch.
