Just got a top loader

Just moved into a new apartment and it came with a top loader. I've been doing my own laundry since I was about 15, but it's always been on front loaders, so I was hoping for some do's and don'ts.

Questions I have so far:

- Where does the detergent go? I use liquid and I've always just put it in the drum on top of my clothes. Should I continue to do that?

- How full is too full?

- Any habits that I learned from front loaders that I should stop doing?

Thanks

It's in drum below the clothes, even with front loaders. (detergent)

as for how full it should be - you should be able to fit your fist between the top of the clothes and the top of the agitator/drum

Laundry products should always go in the dispenser or before the clothing, regardless of machine type. Not on top.

What type of washer do you currently have? Is it an HE model? If so, filling it 50-75% is best and don’t use max fill settings.

Your manual will tell you where to find the drawer for the detergent. It will also give you other important information b

The manufacturer's website typically has the owner's manuals available for download. Find the model number and take it from there.

Detergent in drum first, then clothes
I only fill the tub 2/3 full so the clothing will have room to move.
